“She reads books as one would breathe air, to full up and live.”

-Annie Dillard

Happy Friday! The sun came out… for a few days… I was able to get out and about and enjoy the warm weather with long walks. After what seemed like 2 weeks of constant rain, it was lovely to have some sunshine.

Since it was raining last weekend, and I had cabin fever, I went to the Chelsea Art Galleries to browse different exhibits. I love doing this every once in a while. It’s easy to just hop from gallery to gallery– all free. I love seeing people’s creative visions, and to get inspired as well. I love that art is so objective. There were definitely some paintings, sculptures, and creations I did not care for at all. However, there were people around me who loved it. I always lean towards abstract art. I find it to be very stimulating, like an endless journey of new discoveries. I also like portraits. There was an exhibition that I blindly walked into that had nude photos of men. If you take away the shock-value of the pieces, it was beautiful to see the human form. I guess that may be the dancer in me. Anyway, if you have nothing to do on a Saturday (it’s closed on Sundays), I highly suggest walking around the Chelsea Art Galleries. They change up the exhibitions, so there is always something new to discover. The galleries are spread out between 24th-26th street between 10th and 11th.

This past week was a quiet one. I didn’t really plan anything as I was suppose to be going out of town. I was going to head over to North Fork for a few days, but unfortunately the plans fell through. I’ve never been to North Fork and it would have been fun to explore, especially the vineyards. But these things happen and I can always head over there another time.

I did go to my usual DanceBody class. They started the Q4 dances so this week was all about learning. They haven’t introduced all of the dances yet, but I am enjoying the ones we have learned thus far. I am loving Bongos, Billie Eilish, and Hey Mama. They have breakdown videos online so I will practicing these dances over the weekend.

Oh, I bought cute little pumpkins at Trader Joe’s to place on my tv console. That brightened my week! I was having trouble finding little pumpkins for some reason. TJ’s came to my rescue with a plethora of small pumpkins at their store. It’s the only thing I have done thus far in terms of decorating for the autumn season. I am really not one for Halloween decor.

What I am watching: I did’t start any new shows this past week. Mostly because I am bombarded with reality tv at the moment. There are so many Real Housewives shows that I am watching, plus Southern Charm, The Bachelor, and Dancing With The Stars. It’s a lot… I was a few weeks behind RHOC, so basically tried to binge watch it before the reunion. I thought the reunion was good. They were all ready to get right into it. Southern Charm has also been good this season. I haven’t seen this week’s episode, but am so interested in the Taylor / Austen situation. I think Taylor needs to leave the show (and Shep); get another dental assistant job and find a nice guy through church. She is spiraling and it’s a little hard to watch.

What I bought: J.Crew is having a big sale right now so I snagged a few items that I have been eyeing. First, I finally bought this top-handle bag in pale bone. Next I bought these metallic strappy heels, which will be perfect for the holidays– also for weddings.

I restocked my favorite face oil from Elemis– currently 25% off. I love to put it on at night to give my face some moisture. Last but not least I bought a new book to prepare for my book club in a little over a week. We are reading Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo. So far I am enjoying it!

This weekend I again have nothing planned because I thought I would be out of town. I did try to plan a meet up with a friend, but that also fell through. Maybe God is trying to tell me to relax and stay home… Anyway, if it doesn’t rain like it’s suppose to (insert eye roll) I will get out of the apartment to frolic around.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
