Lately I have been religiously set in my fitness routine, with a little wiggle room of course for scheduling purposes. I know what days I want to go to dance cardio, how I like to start the week or end the week with yoga, how I have to go to Megan Roup’s class on Friday’s as a must, and add a HIIT workout sometime in-between. Since I have been persistent on my weekly workouts, I haven’t tried any new fitness studios. I keep saying this is something I am going to change up but at last, another week goes by and I can’t give up my beloved dance classes. I am, however, trying a new class this weekend called Precision Run. My friend Sara, from City Fit Life, is now a teacher there so I am taking one of her classes this weekend. Anyway, even though I do not have new to me workouts to share, I thought I’d share a few that I have been going to, or have tried in the past, that I have yet to share. And I noticed I have not shared a workout guide since January!!

When the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started the first thing I shopped for was activewear. I knew that this was the perfect time to grab a few items to workout in for a more affordable price. And to be honest, I wear more activewear daily than I do regular clothes. I bought this top (in black) from the Nordstrom Sale and have been wearing it to my workout classes. Since the sale began I started thinking about how activewear can really be expensive. There are so many cute workout sets that I would love to have but find to be overly priced. Maybe some day I’ll treat myself and get a matching pair of leggings with a crop top but until then I’ll settle for more affordable quality items. Since the Nordstrom Sale will not last forever, sadly, I thought I’d round up a few cute activewear items that are under $100. This way you won’t break the bank and you can still work on your fitness goals while looking cute!

For over a year I have been trying to educate myself of the importance of keeping our earth clean. It is not that I didn’t care before, I mean as a child I was deeply affected by Ferngully and went around my neighborhood to raise money for the rainforest. I think in the past I was not truly paying attention to what exactly is happening to our environment. Now that I know, I hate to tell you guys but it is not looking good. I believe we have about 25 years max to fix this problem. My interest or my awareness sparked when I went to a luncheon last year about sustainability. Since then I have been trying to inform myself about wearing sustainable clothes (still have a hard time since not every brand is), learning about climate change, landfills, pollution, and ocean clean up.

Bikini season is around the corner, which means it’s time to amp up our workouts to achieve that summer body we have been working towards (ugh… goodbye tacos). While I may not have the 6 pack abs I ordered for the summer, I at least want to go into the season feeling healthy and happy with my body. I have started to incorporate more HIIT workouts into my regimen along with changing up my workouts weekly. As I am usually in a dance cardio class I am trying to cut it down to only one dance class a week and fill the rest with either sculpt, pilates reformer, yoga, boxing, and HIIT. Along with going to only one dance class I will (hopefully soon) be running outside to get my cardio in.
