“Caring deeply will always be the right thing”

-Anne Shirley Cuthbert

Happy Friday! It has been a grim week for everyone. I have made my thoughts and feelings clear on Instagram stories, but I would like to reiterate them here. I stand for peace and humanity for both Israel and Palestine. I stand with my Jewish friends who are frighten and grieving while acknowledging the oppression of the people of Palestine. I will be the first to admit I am not fully knowledgable in this deep-rooted conflict that has been going on for centuries. Truthfully I feel it’s not my place to give a political opinion. I will only be vocal on peace and condemning violence and hate. To stand for the innocent civilians who are the ones to truly suffer. Grieving for the loss of children, women, elderly, and innocent men. It’s heartbreaking and it must end. We must all find a way to live in peace, harmony, and with love.

I want to acknowledge that while there is suffering happening in the world, we must move through and forward. I will continue to post and share my life. The only way to get through this is with joy and taking care of our mental health. You can lend a hand and invest in the ongoings of this war while living your life. Sharing my OOTDs and going to events does not mean I do not care. I want to be clear on this as I share my week.

My week was pretty busy and lots of fun. Monday I met up with my friend Jackie in Central Park to shoot. Jackie is an incredible photographer and was kind enough to help me get reacquainted with my camera. I would like to get back into photography. We shot for a while then had coffee/tea at Ralph’s. It was fun to not only play around with my camera but to also catch up with Jackie.

Tuesday morning I went to my usual DanceBody class. We are on week 2 of learning the new dances for Q4. This week they introduced a new one to add to the set. It’s to the song “Lose Control” by Missy Elliott. I am really enjoying this one! It’s fun to do but also very challenging. It has a lot of components to it. I still need to practice most of the dances but I am definitely getting the hang of a few of them.

The next day I shot a few looks with Marth– one of Laurel Creative associates. After being uptown in the UES I spotted a few locations that I thought were perfect for my upcoming shoot. We did 3 looks around Upper East Side and in Central Park. Later that day I went over to Brooklyn for the Apartment Therapy Small/Cool Event.

The event was lots of fun! It was my second time going to their annual Small/Cool event. Basically it’s a mini Showhouse. Instead of it being in an actual house or apartment they rent out a large space and section off areas for each designer. It is still the same concept as a Showhouse; each interior designer is assigned a particular room within a house or apartment to decorate. This time, however, most of the designers were the writers for Apartment Therapy. There were a few designs that I absolutely loved and want to recreate in my apartment. One big trend that I have seen all over social media and at the event is stacking books in the fireplace. I do not have a fireplace but I used to have one when I lived in Gramercy. We were not allowed to use our fireplace but I wish I had thought of the idea to place my growing collection of books. It’s really a unique concept. Anyway, I love Showhouse events! I find them to be not only fun but inspirational. I enjoy seeing different people’s creative design aesthetics. The night was fun and I enjoyed meeting some of the writers and interior designers.

My parents were in town for a quick visit. They flew in yesterday morning and left today. They were here for the Queen concert. But before we went to the concert I took them to the Museum of Broadway. I have been before but wanted them to check it out. We are a family of broadway lovers. Both my parents, and myself, enjoyed walking through the history of broadway and remembering some of our old favorites. I highly suggest visiting the museum someday– there is so much to see and learn about.

The main reason my parents were here was for the Queen concert. It was SO good!! I would have loved to have seen Freddy Mercury but Adam Lambert did an incredible job! That guy can SING! He truly has a phenomenal voice. The only two original members are Brian May and Roger Tayler. Both of them did a few solos and it was amazing! They played all of my favorite Queen songs except for two– being “One Year of Love” and “Body Language.” However, seeing and hearing “Bohemian Rhapsody” live was truly a gift!! I am surprised I still have a voice after singing and yelling all night. I am so happy I was able to see one of my favorite bands perform! I wore my faux leather pants that I love so much and an old bell sleeve black top. Shop my look here.

What I am watching: I watched the first two episodes of the docuseries Beckham on Netflix. I am really enjoying it! I obviously know who David Beckham is but I really do not know much of his history besides that he is a soccer (football) player and is married to Posh Spice. I enjoyed learning of his upbringing and his time as a footballer. A few of my favorite moments are when he talks about how in love he was (is) with Victoria that he used to drive 4 hours just to spend 7 minutes with her. I also think the replay of certain games was thrilling– had me on the edge of my seat to know the outcome of a game that happened 20+ years ago, ha! I highly suggest this docuseries even if you are only a Spice Girls fan– lots of home videos from them as well are included!

What I bought: The only thing I bought this week was my favorite matcha powder. I also repainted my tv console this week and had to buy new paint and brushes. I ended up painting it the Breezy Blue color. I am loving it and glad I decided to change the color.

I am ready to sing and dance in the theater with fellow Swifties. Other than that I will be taking it easy as I am old and went out two nights in a row. I need a break.
