“May we stop seeing ourselves through the eyes of people that never saw us”

-Shane Steele

Happy Friday! Well it’s raining again here in New York. Is it too early to have seasonal depression because this is making me feel blue.

Last weekend I braved the rain for a fun evening with friends. I went with Jackie and Sarah to the new restaurant Cecchi’s in West Village. They have a few art deco murals that are Instagram worthy (seen here). Besides the decor, the food was really good! I had the sea bass which was delicious. After dinner we walked to the Hotel Chelsea for drinks. We wanted to have drinks in the Lobby Bar. Unfortunately the wait was over an hour to get in. Instead we went to a Apotheke Mixology in NOMAD. I loved the apothecary and European style decor. It was a fun evening out despite the rain.

The rest of my week was not as exciting or fun as last week. I spent most of it working and running errands. I did go to DanceBody. After 2 weeks off I was feeling it. I actually left the class early which is something I have never done– except for one Soul Cycle class back in 2014 when I got a migraine mid-class. I can always muster through any aches, pains, and fatigue. However, some reason this time I felt really faint and extremely fatigued. I went and got a box of apple juice to sip on, thinking my sugar levels were low. This happens every once in a blue moon and usually the apple juice works. This time, however, I couldn’t shake the feeling I was going to faint. So I left and felt terrible for leaving. I was mad at myself for not being able to get through the workout. Then the next day I got my period and it all made sense…. It’s fun being a woman.

What I am watching: Dancing With The Stars is back!! I LOVE this show! My dream is to be on it. I just need to figure out how to become a D/E list celebrity. I grew up dancing, but I have never done ballroom before. It seems like so much fun!. Anyway, I thought the first episode went well. It was a smart decision to replace Tyra Banks with Julianne Hough. My top contenders are Charity, Ariana, and Jason Mraz.

The Golden Bachelor premiered last night and it exceeded my expectations. It is like night and day between the regular Bachelor programs and the Golden Bachelor. Everyone was so kind to each other. There were actual meaningful conversations. Gerry is the cutest and it was so sweet to see him choked up at the end when sending some of the women home. I am really looking forward to the rest of the season and hoping Gerry finds love!! It was hard to transition from respectful interactions to Bachelor in Paradise where it’s all toxic.

I watched the docuseries The Super Model on AppleTV+. It’s about Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and Linda Evangelista. It’s a 4-part series about the rise of their modeling careers and now their legacies. It’s very good! I loved learning about each woman’s start in the modeling world and how they navigated this never-before-seen popularity of models. Models were suppose to blend in and these women were paid to stand out. They completely changed not only the modeling world but culture. It’s very interesting and I highly recommend watching!

What I bought: I purchased a new book which I am devouring. I bought Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score– the 3rd book to the trilogy. I have been WAITING for the story of Lucian and Sloane since I finished the first two earlier this year. Next I bought these black Mary Jane pumps. It was time for new black heels and I love the Mary Jane style.
