J.Crew’s Spring Show ’17 was held this past Sunday during Fashion Week. And like many of you I kept refreshing my Instagram for updates and sneak peeks at the spring collection. J.Crew is one brand that I always look forward to seeing during Fashion Week. Not only because it is my favorite brand, but because I love how natural the models look and how they are perfectly styled. One thing they did this year that I really admire is using real people to model the collection–staffers, family, and friends in different race, age and size. Real people wearing real clothes, just like you and me.

Today is the day!!! I am off to New York for fashion week! I do not know the right words to express my excitement and nervousness! I have been planning, shopping, organizing for this week for the past 3 months. Can’t believe it is finally here! I have either an event, runway show, presentation, photoshoot, or party to attend to everyday I am there. Sometimes all of the above in one day (yikes!).  It is going to be a busy week but one that I will never forget. When I was visiting Atlanta a few weeks ago one of the things I wanted to see the most was the Swan House. I first came upon this beautiful house while stalking scrolling through Instagram.  It is an historic center in Buckhead, GA. Buckhead, by the way, is jaw-dropingly gorgeous with huge houses and lots of trees. I almost tucked and rolled out of the car hoping someone would either adopt me or marry me. Anyway, the Swan House has been around since the 1920’s and was owned by the Inman family, heirs to cotton fortune.  Now you can tour the house and get a glimpse into their southern lifestyle of the 20’s and 30’s. Each room is designed to represent different lifestyles and activities— parties, tea time, children rooms, servants living quarters, the kitchen. It was all so beautiful and interesting. They even had what the family would have worn during these times.

Baby-Girl

 

On Friday I mentioned in my post (here) that we were throwing a gender reveal party for my sister and brother-in-law. Well…… IT’S A GIRL!!!!! Going into the party I was convinced they were having a boy because my sister and I always joked that she was destined to have all boys. Well we are proven wrong. I am SO SO SO SO exited she is having a girl; ballet classes, little bows, cute clothes, headbands, boy bands, fashion, pink…. I could go on. They have picked out a name– a family name– but as of now I am not allowed to tell (cue me rolling my eyes).
