For the past few months I have been attending Guest of a Guest book club. I am loving getting to chat with other book lovers while also reading books I may not personally pick up myself. It has opened me up to different stories and genres. This last edition of what books I read this past fall consist of all book club picks. While I may have mixed reviews on some, I think each one creates a stimulating discussion. There are so many layers to each book that you can easily chat about and dissect. During the festive season there is nothing better than to read fun holiday books. From Halloween witches to Christmas miracles, holiday books help get you into the festive spirit. Part 2 of what books I read this past fall season are just that. Even though they are centered around the holiday season, they each hold a greater lesson than mistletoe and tinsel. It’s about stepping into your true self, pains of growing up, and opening yourself up to family and friends. While the holidays may be over, bookmark these for next year or read them now. (more…)

Now that all of the holiday hoopla has ended, it’s time to get back to my daily hobbies like reading. In my 2024 resolutions and intentions that I posted yesterday, I shared that I read 30 books last year. I have now set the goal of reading 35 for this coming year, but secretly hoping I can make it to 40. If you are also creating a new goal for x amount of books to read, here are a few suggestions. I must have been on a reading spree this past summer with 8 books to share. We have already gone ago the first 6: here and here. Now let’s chat about the last two books. These last two books were heavy in material and required your full attention. But each one has an important lesson on life, relationships, and oneself. They make you think.
