We have now reached the end of my summer reading list. It was a season filled with romance, family bonds, and fate. I read under the sun in park, sprawled out on my couch, and late into the night in bed. It was a great summer of stories that brighten my day and made me feel hopeful for the future. The way things have been this year we all deserve an escape from reality. We have spent the majority of 2020 indoors, isolated. The only escape we have had is through television and books; and I have spent plenty of time-devouring both. This past summer I wanted to read light-hearted books. The type of stories that will fill me with joy, excitement, and love. I wanted romance, happily ever after. I wanted to remind myself to stay positive through the whirlwind of fear and uncertainty. The beauty of being quarantined during the summer is having ample time to read. I spent hours on the weekends reading in the park with the sun on my skin and the wind blowing. I lucked out this summer by reading some page-turners. From love stories to rights movements to life’s pondering questions, these books were hard to put down. I highly recommend adding each and everyone to your reading wish list.
As a book lover, I am constantly devouring through literary story after literary story. Diving into one adventure after another, escaping reality with a love story or a classic tale. Reading through chapters, learning about my favorite celebrities, or a historical moment. With this thirst to explore the art of words comes a collection of books gathering dust.
