Happy Friday! I hope everyone in Columbus is safe and are not dealing with much damage from the tornado. My parents lost power, but thankfully that is the worst of it. Their outside lights and tv is damage, as well as having tree branches all over the yard, but that is so minor in life. They are safe and the house is intact, and that is all that matters. I have never seen Columbus, nor my suburb, in such disarray. It was sad to see through photos from family and friends. However, so far I haven’t heard of anyone being injured or without a home, which is a blessing!
It was a much busier week; heavy work schedule, an increase in clientele, etc. I was fatigue most evenings, but in a good way. I hit an all-time high in sales Monday, way beyond my personal goal. I styled a few brides-to-be for their rehearsal dinner and engagement parties. It was exciting to hear all the details of their upcoming nuptials! One bride in particular looked absolutely stunning in this Emilia Wickstead set- top and skirt. I am so happy she got it!!
The rest of my week was pretty calm. I had Sunday off so I went on a little run/walk on the West Side Highway, as well as ran errands, did a little yoga session, and just relaxed. It was a soothing day. Also this past week I had a doctor’s appointment, everything looks good! I got blood drawn to check on my hormones; waiting to hear back and hoping for a positive result! I was going to go out for a drink last night, but was so tired from work and had a headache that I chose to postpone my plans.
What I am watching: I finally saw The Drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. Yeah…. that was not at all what I thought it was about. While I do not want to spoil the movie, I was completely shocked at the reason for their relationship issues. While this isn’t a movie I would watch again, it does make you think and prompts a discussion with those that have seen it. Unfortunately I think this isn’t an out of left field scenario, especially in this day and age. And no, I couldn’t go through with it- the wedding that is. Besides the plot, I do think both Zendaya and Robert Pattinson were incredible in it.
I started my annual hate-watch of My Life with the Walter Boys for season 3. It’s a decent show, but the acting is awful. And the storyline of a love triangle involving two brothers is tiresome. It’s a show where I am like my goodness this is awful, then something happens that makes me hit next episode. It’s an easy, mindless show to put on and watch. Really the only characters that I like is the brother that does theater, the mom and dad (hello Riley from Buffy!!!), and the guidance counselor. The rest annoy me….. can’t wait until season 4!!
What I bought: I hate to admit this, but I started shopping for fall clothes. To jump start shopping for the season, I bought these hazel velvet flats. I was eyeing them last year, and am so happy they are back in stock! I needed a new pair of ballet flats that were elevated for the fall and winter. I can wear them to work or wear them running errands, out to dinner, etc.

This weekend I am volunteering at The Joyce Theater for the Ballet Festival. The Ballet Festival this year is curated by THE Misty Copeland!! While I am sad Misty herself will not be performing, I am excited to see principles and soloists from the American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet, as well as étolies from the Paris Opera Ballet. It’s going to be a lovely evening! Other than being a patron of the arts, I will be working most of the weekend, taking some time to read as much of my book as possible, and enjoy the weekend overall.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
