It is one of my favorite times of the year here in New York. The US Open is right around the corner, and I am very excited to not only attend but to watch this historic grand slam play out. It’s already been a crazy season with Alcaraz out due to injury, half the top players losing in the first few rounds at the French Open, and more unpredictable events. It’s a season that is up in the year, it’s anyone’s match to win, and that has been very exciting!
For the past 10 years my tradition has been to attend the noon mens/womens singles at Arthur Ashe on the first day. This year, however, my parents are going to be in town and we are attending the Roger Federer exhibition instead. While I am sad to not attend one of the grand slam matches (thanks Ticketmaster for allowing resale *insert eye roll*), I think attending this once in a life time event is well worth missing the tournament. I have never seen Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, or Andy Roddick (well I have seen him play table tennis at a US Open event so that may count?) play in real life, so this is going to be such a treat!
Deciding what to wear to the US Open can be a little tricky. You will see people dressing anywhere from tennis attire to casual t-shirt and shorts to elevated dresses. It really depends on where you are sitting. Since I always sit in the nose bleeds section I tend to go more casual yet elevated- I do like to dress up! I usually opt for a nice sundress or a white mini dress. It is always humid and hot, so wear something you can be comfortable in, and yes, sweat in.
What I am going to wear this year is still up in the air. I have been browsing around, trying to find something that fits the occasion. If not, I have a few backup dresses in my closet. However, I feel I have gathered enough options in my US Open Edit that I am sure I can find something to wear. A few of my top choices are; this pistachio button-down mini dress, and this black checkered linen maxi skirt with this ecru lace top. If you are attending the US Open this year, or are still shopping for summer outfits to wear, I have gathered a variety of different styles to wear while you cheer on your favorites.
