“Your power isn’t in what you do. It’s in what you believe while doing it”

-Matt Cooke

Happy Friday! I am back in New York after a fun weekend home in Ohio to visit my family and attend my nieces dance recital. It was a wonderful weekend and I enjoyed every minute spent with family.

My nieces did a wonderful job performing in their recital. My oldest niece was in 5 dances; ballet, tap, jazz, and two competition pieces. My youngest was only in one, ballet. She was so cute after her performance. She couldn’t stop giggling, couldn’t contain herself while we were giving her flowers and congratulating her. Both girls knew their dances, had stage presence, and enjoyed themselves. Very proud of them!!

Since being back in the city (since Sunday), I have had a few exciting meetings that I will hopefully get to talk about soon! I watched the Knicks win game 1 of the NBA finals! I have to admit, after Brunson went into the locker room to check on his knee, I thought we were going to lose. I even thought about just going to bed, I was that certain we were done for. We were not playing well. O ye of little faith. I am so glad I didn’t go to bed. I would have missed out on an epic comeback at the end of the 4th quarter. Very exciting and can’t wait for game 2 tonight!

Last night I went out to dinner with my friends, Sarah and Jackie. We went to the Isle of Capri an Italian restaurant, on 61st and 3rd. Which was perfect timing because I just finished a book that was set in Capri. Anyway, on Thursdays (only) they open up their speakeasy downstairs for dinner and drinks. It was a really cool experience! The underground restaurant was filled with artifacts, busts, paintings, and more. We were seated in a little cove, secluded from the main room by brick arches. There are other little hidden areas where you can be tucked into. The lights are low with only candles and a few overhead lights. I was sorta getting Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disney world vibes- in the best way possible. During dinner they had a live performance of a Frank Sinatra impersonator. We all had pasta- you can switch out any pasta for gluten free penne. I got the gnocchi pesto, but they switched out the dumplings for GF penne, and I added chicken to it. Very good! Isle of Capri makes for a really great date night!

Besides having a great experience at the restaurant, I enjoyed catching up with Sarah and Jackie. We haven’t seen each other in little over a month or so due to traveling and having busy schedules. It was nice to chit-chat about what is new in our lives.

What I am watching: When I was at my parents house we watched Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling. We all really enjoyed it! I thought it was humorous and endearing. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it as it starts sorta in the middle of the story and has flashbacks. I also wasn’t sure how they were going to portray an alien. Was it going to look like a Star Wars character, E.T. a stereotypical alien, or something more sinister looking. I really wasn’t sure if I even liked the look of Rocky, but he grew on me!  Ryan Gosling was perfectly cast in this as someone who basically acts alone. He is charming and has a good sense of humor for the roll. I thought the entire movie was really sweet and lovely.

I started season 2 of The Four Seasons starring Tina Fey, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, and more. I am enjoying this season thus far – currently in summer. I thought they did a great job continuing the story, while progressing it. The characters are all still lovely, quirky, and messy.

What I bought: I’ve been wanting to buy more items to wear while I go out. Tired of wearing the same thing for drinks out on the town and/or for date night.

White halter dress (currently on sale): It’s something that I can easily wear during the day, but then change up my accessories and shoes for a night out.

Peridot halter dress: Clearly I am into halters right now. This dress was gifted to me. I haven’t received it yet, so hoping it fits. It does say to size up, but I got my normal size 2. Hoping that works out! I love the bright color and think it’s perfect for a summer night out or date night. It’s also under $100.

Tonight is game 2 of the NBA Finals! We may go to a sports bar somewhere, or we may just stay home and watch. Not sure yet! Tomorrow, however, I will be out and about for drinks in the West Village. Oh and of course, will watch The Tony Awards Sunday night!!! Excited for a sunny, fun weekend!

Don’t forget to watch Office Romance on Netflix this weekend starring JLo and Brad Goldstein. I am in one particular scene, but the chances of seeing me are very slime. It was a large group. Still it was a fun, but very long two days of shooting.

Have a great weekend xo
