“Here’s to the moments when you realize the simple things are wonderful and enough”

-Jill Badonsky

Happy Friday!! I am currently getting ready to jet set off to Florida for vacation. I am itching to be lounging by the pool and under the sun. It’s going to be a wonderful week!

Since I am heading off on vacation, I spent this past week getting ready. Mostly I went shopping for new cute outfits to wear, but I also did some tedious stuff like my taxes. Also, someone canceled my Con Ed account. Con Edison blames my landlord, my landlord swears they didn’t do it. All I know is that I didn’t consent to it. I am still living here. I was never given a notice. I pay my bills on time…. It’s still an ongoing headache. My theory is that someone misspoke or wrote down the wrong apartment letter, as the two other apartments next to me were vacant earlier this year.

Truth be told I spent most of my week glued to my social media after the Scandoval news broke. I haven’t watched Vanderpump Rules in a few years, but have always kept up with the cast and the happenings. I have never liked Tom Sandoval and am happy to know my first instincts were correct. My sister still watches Vanderpump, so we have been texting/dming each other all week. I decided to binge watch this past season to catch up before probably the most watched Bravo reunion in history. What a wild week for us Bravo fans!

I went to DanceBody this past Tuesday, which I really needed. I needed to dance, move my body, enjoy myself. I was in a bad headspace over the weekend and spent most of it on my couch watching Netflix or reading. I think I just needed to reset and do nothing. Even though I was in a much better headspace by Tuesday, DanceBody always puts me in the best of moods. We are at the end of Q1- so we know the dances and doing them full-out. They also change songs during the 3rd month to make it more challenging.

What I am watching: While in a bad mood I binged watched the entire 2nd season of Sex/Life on Netflix. To be honest I wasn’t much of a fan of the 1st season. I didn’t care for it. Mostly I couldn’t get over the fact that Billie continued to write in her diary (on her laptop) knowing full well her husband was reading it. It also felt like a midlife crisis and she acted as if she was the only 40year old with kids who miss being in their 20s. I wasn’t even going to entertain the thought of watching season 2, however since I had nothing else to watch and was in a bad mood I decided to put it on. I have to say season 2 is so much better and had a much more meaningful plot line. I do not understand why there is a season 3.

I watched the first 3 episodes of Daisy Jones and The Six. I absolutely loved the book and so far am really enjoying the mini-series. I love hearing the songs come to life– I can’t wait until they go on tour and sing Aurora. I also think it is perfectly cast except Sam Claflin looks so much older than the rest of them. I always pictured Billy to be at the most 3 years older. I love Sam Claflin. I think he is a talented actor and he has a great singing  voice, I just think he looks much older than the rest of the band– much older than I had pictured in my mind while reading the book. Riley Keough does an amazing job– great voice as well. If you haven’t looked at press-tour fashion for all the women in this series you must. The fashion on tour (and in the show) is amazing! My only complaint about the series is that there are 5 members not 6. They didn’t write Paul in, which I find bizarre. They make it a point to talk about a few times, and even make jokes. I don’t understand why they couldn’t just hire an up-and-coming actor who would be willing to say only a few words but still be in the show. Does not make sense to me.

What I bought: Since I have been shopping for vacation I have bought mostly resort wear and a little bit of spring items. First I bought this pretty floral off-the-shoulder smock dress. It’s perfect for vacation and to wear this spring and summer. I bought this beautiful two-piece set– crop top and skirt. It feels as if I should be jet setting off to Italy instead of Florida. I am in love with it! Next I bought these cute green slide sandals— still waiting for them arrival, fingers crossed! Last but not least, for spring (not for vacation) I bought this pink shirtdress. Besides clothing, I bought a new book Things We Hide From The Light the sequel to Things We Never Got Over— which I completely devoured.
