“Believe in yourself a little more and magical things will happen”

Happy Friday and happy holidays! The holiday season has finally arrived and I, for one, am enjoying every bit of it. I have been listening to holiday music, decorated my apartment, and am watching Hallmark movies. Now I just need to go see the Rockefeller Tree to really make it feel like Christmas.

Yesterday I went uptown to the J.McLaughlin store for their holiday shopping event with Monogram Mary. Brooke, owner of Monogram Mary, was kind enough to monogram scarves for us. We got this reversible faux fur scarf. Besides monogramming, they had delicious lattes for us and scones. I, of course, had the matcha latte. The entire store was festively decorated for the season, they even had a vintage delivery truck out front with presents. The entire morning was a delight and I loved chatting with everyone – catching up with friends and meeting new people! Besides the scarf I didn’t buy anything, but a lot of the J.McLaughlin employees had on this puffer jacket and I thought it was cute!

The rest of my week has been me playing catch-up from over Thanksgiving and trying to get a start on holiday content. I went to my last DanceBody class of the year (possibly) which made me sad. Since I am leaving next weekend for most of December, I will not be able to attend DanceBody in person, only on-line. I could possibly go back at the end of December, but let’s be honest, I will be too lazy to do anything between Christmas and New Year’s. The class was fun and I enjoyed dancing one last time to Beyoncé.

What I am watching: I am almost done with Wednesday, the new Netflix series about Wednesday Addams. It is really good!! Jenna Ortega does an incredible job as Wednesday Addams– give her an Emmy ha! I will be thinking about the dance scene for years- loved it! As much as I enjoy the series, I am confused as to why they didn’t premiere it over Halloween. It’s clearly the perfect show for that holiday. Either way, I highly recommend!

Last weekend I watched Spirited with Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. I absolutely loved it!! From the storyline to the music to the choreography, all chef’s kiss.  Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell are decent singers and dancers, but I like that they are not the best. It’s gives the movie a little charm. The background dancers, however, are incredible! It’s obviously hilarious, but also has a warmth to it with how the story plays out. Another highly recommend watch!

What I bought: I didn’t go all out for Black Friday deals, I just shopped for essentials. I rebought my favorite vitamin c serum and some new bedsheets. What I am currently shopping for is a new needlepoint canvas. Currently have my eye on this bowood flower.

This weekend will be all about holidays in NYC. From Macy’s to the Upper East Side, I will be taken in all of the window displays and holiday decor. I am going to see the Rockefeller tree and stop by the new Hill House store. Then walk up 5th avenue to the Plaza and pretend I am Eloise. Then head up to the Upper East Side to see how people decorated their town houses. It’s going to be a festive weekend!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
