“Do everything in love”

-1 Corinthians 16:14

Happy Friday! I am back in New York after a great week in Columbus with my family. It was wonderful to spend time at home relaxing and enjoying the company of my family. I went to the Memorial Golf Tournament (see my REEL here) with my dad, walked around Park of Roses with my mom (see REEL here), spent quality time with my nieces, and had long visits with my grandmother. The entire week was wonderful!

Last Saturday was my niece’s first dance recital. She goes to the same dance studio my sister and I grew up taking lessons from. It was a surreal moment for sure to be in the audience watching my niece take the same stage we did so many years ago. It was also bizarre to be in the audience in general and not backstage or on stage performing. The entire recital was great and so cute seeing all the little girls in their costumes. My niece did an amazing job! I am SO proud of her! She loved being on stage and dancing… she is definitely my niece and my sister’s daughter. But besides watching my niece perform, I loved seeing my old dance teachers and dance friends.

Since being back home in the city I have spent most of my time catching up on work. I went to my usual DanceBody full-out class, after two weeks away. They are starting new dances for the summer on July 1st. This is a great time to join DBLIVE online to learn the new dances. I do DBLIVE to not only learn the dances but also to practice. I record the dance and watch it over and over again to get familiar with the movements and the song. Try DBLIVE for 50% off your first month with code DBMAGGIE50. It really is so much fun to do!

What I am watching: I finally started Stranger Things last weekend when I got back from my trip. I am only on episode 3, but am enjoying the season so far. Who else has Kate Bush’s song “Running Up That Hill” on repeat? I definitely have added it to my 80’s Hits album on my Spotify. Anyway, I find this season to be much darker, scarier in a way. More like a horror movie than seasons before. I am going to finish out the next few episodes this weekend. And I swear if they kill off Steve (not a spoiler, just people’s theories) I will take back every nice thing I have said about this show.

What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new this week but was gifted a few pieces from Ashley Brooke’s collaboration with Sunshine Tienda at Tuckernuck. They generously gifted me this floral sunhat and this floral sarong. I showed how I styled the pieces in this REEL here. I am in love with both pieces! The hat is adorable and so unique! It also comes in green. I have been wanting a floral sarong for a while but haven’t found one that I liked. This one I am in love with! The rest of Ashley’s collection consists of bangles and earrings.

This weekend I am going to the L.E.A.F Flower Show in Meatpacking. I went last year and absolutely loved it. The floral designs were stunning. The festival showcases different NYC floral designer’s creations. They also have a bunch of booths set up to purchase bouquets of flowers. It’s worth going to. Besides the floral show I will be enjoying a typical NYC weekend– frolicking around, drinks with friends, reading, and going for a run. Oh and of course, watching The Tony Awards Sunday evening!!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
