Two of the things I love most in life are ruffles and turtlenecks. Separate they make a statement, but together they will change your world.. or at least your day. How could I not have a grand ole day when wearing this ruffle turtleneck?! It says I may be a modest dresser but I still enjoy a shindig or two. I know turtlenecks can get a bad rep for being conservative but I personally think they are trés chic. An item every woman should have in her closet.

My favorite autumn accessory has to be big cozy scarves. I love to wrap myself up in them, drape them over my shoulders, mask my face from the wind with them, and layer them over a big sweater. Take a simple white sweater and spruce it up with a pretty scarf. Then switch up your look by changing the scarf from plaid to solid to wrap to snood. I have rounded up my favorite top 10 scarves that I want to wear this fall and winter.

My style back in the day used to be preppy. I wore a pearl necklace everyday, popped my collar, lived at the Lilly Pulitzer store, and had one too many argyle sweaters. My style has evolved over the years into a more feminine, New York chic. And by New York chic I mean wearing all black with a splash of ruffle. I am more trendy (but not fast fashion) with my choice of attire now. Sometimes, however, I like to let my freak flag fly by bringing the prep back in. The preppy look will always be in style and one that I will go back to time and time again.
