In the beginning of winter I made a promise to myself to start wearing more colors than just black this season. To carry over my bright colorful aesthetics of summer into my winter wardrobe. I still often wear black on black, but have been incorporating a lighter palette attire here and there. Wearing colorful clothing in the winter is a nice change.

Although the holidays are over it does not mean we have to put away our going out clothes. Even someone like me who likes to hibernate in the winter ends up going out and celebrating birthdays, have drinks with friends, go on dates, and so on. A little black dress is your most reliable go-to during the season. It’s simple, chic, and you know you will always look good in it.

I have a birthday celebrating to attend to in the next few weeks where, depending on what we do, I am planning on wearing this velvet black dress. Events are starting up as well and I am sure something else will pop up on my social calendar that I can repeatedly wear this to. You can never go wrong with a little black dress.

This winter I am trying to break out of the norm of wearing all black and playing around with lighter colors for the season. A few of those colors are white, silver, and blush. A combination that would easily lead your mind to think of spring or summer. Now I am introducing it to the cold season. One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the chance to really get dressed up; put on a fancy dress and have a merry time. Holiday parties can vary from ugly Christmas sweaters to black tie affairs. While all are enjoyable, I love having the chance to wear a pretty dress. It reminds me of back in the day when every party entailed a cocktail dress or an evening gown.
