“And the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles”

-Frances Hodgson Burnette

Happy Friday!! The vibe in the city is electric. Everyone is in high spirits after that miraculous win in game 4 from the Knicks. I am still shocked and confused how it happened, but it was a lot of fun to watch! I am ready for game 5 tomorrow, and praying for them to finish it with a win for the championship! What an historic run they have had!

I started out jumping on the bandwagon, rooting for the merriment of the city. Now I am a fan. I love these guys! I hope to see them play during the regular season next year. My entire personality right now is about the Knicks, as is the entire city. Everywhere you go people are wearing their Knicks gear, high-fiving each other, gathering together as the eclectic community we are. I am so happy and grateful to be living here, experiencing all that is going on.

My entire week wasn’t all about the Knicks. Last weekend I went out for drinks at Bar Bonobo in Chelsea. It’s a 70’s disco themed cocktail lounge. I have been wanting to try it, so we went for drinks during happy hour. I was a little surprised to see how packed it was so early, but it was also a beautiful day out. The front portion of the restaurant bar is decorated with wood finishings, green cushions, and a wide-range of various art. The back portion is more intimate; red velvet seating, low lighting. We stayed in the front portion, seated at the bar. The vibes were great, lively. I would love to go back and be seated in the plush cocktail lounge area- where they have another bar to get drink.

Tuesday morning I went to the Bluestone located in Chelsea Piers for an event with Poolside and Blue Canary Canvas Co. They collaborated on these cute little needlepoint charms that you can put on your Poolside handbags. We were upstairs in a private area where they served an assortment of pastries and coffee. Unfortunately they did have GF options, even though their regular menu does. Which was fine, I ate before. I always eat before a brunch event because I know it’s likely they won’t have GF options. Anyway, it was an intimate event, only about 10 of us there. We all sat around a picnic table while Blue Canary founder, Shelia, taught us how to needlepoint. They gifted us two canvases to work on; sea shell and mini tote design. As well as needles and threads, scissors, and a cute canvas tote that says “I brought my needlepoint poolside”. Will absolutely use it!

Since I already know how to needlepoint, I jumped right in. I even helped some others around me. I’ve been needlepointing since I was a kid. I don’t do it as often as I would like, it’s an expensive hobby, but I love it! It’s soothing, meditative in its repetition. The event was lovely! I met some great people- like Ashleigh, founder of Poolside. As well as caught up with some other friends I haven’t seen in a while.

The rest of my week was all work, meetings, and usual domestic activities. I am SO excited to announce that I got a new job!!! I am working part-time as a stylist for Tuckernuck!!! I start next week! I will be taking on walk-in clients, as well as appointments. So if you would like me to style you, just DM me or call the store! They are located in the Upper East Side on Madison Ave. I am really excited to be working in that area with an elevated clientele. I am also excited to work for a company that is well-rounded. Not only do they sell clothes (3rd party and in-house labels), but also home decor, fitness, accessories, and more. Working with home decor will be a new venture for me as I have never done so, but am very eager to do it. There is a lot of growth within the company, which I am hoping to advance to one of those opportunities. But for now, I am happy with the part-time position; getting even more acclimated to the company, seeing if it’s a good fit for my career, etc.

What does this mean for my blog? Absolutely nothing will change! I will still be writing my weekly blog posts, posting outfits on Instagram and TikTok. What will change: talking about what new collections we have in the store on IG stories. Maybe creating more in-store styling content. In the beginning I may not have a blog post up right away, or my hours in which I post on socials may change. I need to get acclimated to balancing my blog and new job. Once I have settled in, everything will be back as it was. So please be patient!

The reason for this change is that I have felt stuck in a rut in life. While I absolutely love my blog, I needed a new venture. A change in my life. I feel this way about a lot of things. I am going out more often, meeting new people, trying new things. After the dreadful winter we had, I realized I have gotten too comfortable living in New York. Gone are the starry-eyes I once had. Now I am set in a routine, have stayed home way too often, and wasn’t putting myself out there. I wasn’t growing as a person. This new career shift will get me out, challenge me in new ways, meet new people, rejunvenate my creativity with styling, work with a company that I love. And yes, make more money so I can move up in the world; a better apartment, travel more, experience all that New York has to offer.

What I am watching: I watched the new Netflix movie Office Romance starring JLO and Brett Goldstein. It’s one of the films that I am in as a background actor. You will not see me- well only the top of my head. The scene is a company business meeting. There were A LOT of us there. It was a fun two-days of shooting and I enjoyed watching JLo and Brett Goldstein act. The movie I thought was good, fine. Nothing serious at all. It’s a fun, lighthearted, often a little crude, romcom. Trigger warning: there is one part that may scar you for life. If you know, you know!

What I bought: While I love fun, colorful, floral outfits for the summer season, I am also looking to add more staple, simple pieces. I believe I am shifting my style a little. Not entirely sure what it is morphing into, just know it is evolving. Something that may have to do with age, or a product of internal growth. While I will never shy away from color and floral garments, I am also looking for more refined, polished pieces.

Black Knit Top: A simple, timeless top that I can pair with a variety of bottoms. Right now I am visioning wearing it with my white skirt; with flats for a day out, heels for a night out. I think I will get a lot of use out of it. Currently on sale and under $100

Woven Sandals: I have been eyeing these brown woven heeled sandals for a few months now and finally got them! I am excited to wear them out at night- would look amazing with a white dress. I realized I do not have any brown heeled shoes for the summer, and I needed to change that. I am tired of wearing my white or beige heels.

This weekend I am finally going to attend a Knicks watch party. My friends and I bought tickets to an exclusive rooftop party. We went back and forth in deciding whether or not we wanted to spend money on it. In the end, however, we decided it was better to have a guaranteed place to go and watch the game, instead of spending our Saturday night waiting in line to get in somewhere. Or having to go to a bar so early, you spend the entire day there. If we do that, and I start drinking that early, I will not make it to tip-off. I am excited to finally be out in the city watching the game with others. It will hopefully be a great weekend! Other than that I will be doing my usual Sunday Shopping post, reading, frolicking, and going for a run.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
