“The universe lets you feel the future before it lets you see it, so trust it”

Happy Friday! To the moon and back we go! Did you watch the Artemis II space launch the other day? I was both nervous and excited about it. It’s really cool that we are heading back to the moon, even if it is just to orbit around it. And for there to be the first woman, black man, and someone outside of the US to be a part of this historic space travel. I am excited to see all of the photos of the moon, and have been loving the images of the earth and space thus far. One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.

Besides geeking out over space, this past week was mostly about recovering from being sick and a little bit of song and dance. Last weekend I barely left my couch I was so sick with the cold. I binged watched shows, watched movies, slept, read, did a little yoga to get my body to stretch and move. I pretty much OD’d on couch drops and Airborne. By Monday I felt so much better! I still have some lingering symptoms that come and go, but the worst of it is over.

Luckily by Tuesday I felt much better because I volunteered as an usher at the Joyce Theatre that night. I haven’t volunteered in over a month, and was excited to get back to it and help out. Especially since the current program being shown was Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. I have always wanted to see them perform! They are here for two weeks- you can do see them this weekend! The first week was program A, which I would have loved to have volunteered for to see the performance but since I was sick I didn’t get to. However, I am so happy I was able to see program B in the second week.

I was very much impressed by the company! I thought their movements were intriguing, the lighting was beautiful, and the dancers were phenomenal. I was not impressed by their costumes. Felt it was lacking. Anyway, their style is a mixture of modern, contemporary, Fosse, African, and theatre. They do a lot of isolated movements (Fosse) which I not only love to dance, but find to be captivating. The simplicity of the lighting, usually only using a spotlight, accentuated the movements and elevated the creativeness. I was impressed by each dancer; leaned into the tongue in cheek moments, put everything they had into the movements. I hope to see them perform again someday!

What I am watching: Over the weekend when I was sick I started watching Ladies of London. It’s a rebooted show on Bravo. I didn’t watch it during its first go around back in 2014. However, I hear it was no where near as amazing as this current one. I am loving this cast. Each one is over the top and a little insane. I do wish they had less Americans and more British people, but I love every single one of them.  Kimi and Martha are characters. I love their kookiness. Emma (with her aristocratic life) and Mark (with his poshness) are my two favorites.

I finally caught up on Shrinking. I have enjoyed  this season with the character arcs and the progression of storylines. I am so curious what they are going to do next year with a few characters “gone”. It will be interesting!

I started watching Imperfect Women on Apple TV starring Kerry Washington, Elizabeth Moss, and Kate Mara. It’s a murder mystery, a who done it type show. I am liking it and am so curious as to who the killer is. I have some suspicions but you never know! I feel like there is going to be a huge twist at the end. My only complaint is that Kerry Washington’s character’s outfits are hideous. I do not understand the styling choices for her character unless it’s to show how she goes against the norm. I wish they didn’t do that.

What I bought: I quickly snatched this pistachio color denim jacket. It keeps going in and of stock so keep an eye on it. A similar color and style here. Both are perfect to wear this spring season.

This weekend I currently do not have plans, but do want to get out and about. I have been cooped up in my apartment for far too long. I will be going to church to celebrate Easter. I bought mini Cadbury eggs for myself; my favorite holiday candy.  Other than that I will enjoy the weekend as usual.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
