“I am a dream still dreaming”
-anon
Happy Friday! As I sit here defrosting from the bitter cold, I am enjoying a nice cup of matcha. Ready for the weekend to begin. It was a much calmer week compared to prior, but still satisfying at best.
My week mostly consisted of creating content and working on gift guides. It can take a long time to create gift guides; trying to find the perfect items. I enjoy doing it, even though it can take time. I did have another webinar meeting with LTK earlier this week to go over holiday strategies. Even though this isn’t my first rodeo, it is always nice to learn about new features, consumer and product analytics, and helpful tips to navigate the season.
I was able to escape my apartment this week with a little stroll through the Upper East Side. I first (finally) went to the new Tuckernuck store. If you haven’t stopped by yet you must. It was bigger than I thought it was going to be, and I loved the way they decorated it. I tried on a bunch of different holiday outfits. I also tried on this fun, sparkly embellished winter coat. It was nice to finally be able to see, touch, and try on the garments that I obsess over online. They also have some decor stuff there too to shop.
After Tuckernuck I walked all the way down Madison Avenue, into the side streets, to look at the holiday decor. The Upper East Side always does a wonderful job decorating for the season. While not everyone has their holiday decor out quite yet, there was still plenty to see. If you are up there, go on 64th and Madison to see the townhouse that is over-the-top decorated each year. This season they have large Christmas trees, bows, and nutcrackers, as well as gingerbread characters on the windowsill.
This morning I had a photoshoot with my photographer Marth. It.Was.So.Cold! Bless her for being a trooper while I dragged her around the Upper East Side to capture holiday content. I had planned to shoot four outfits, but ended up only doing three after being in the cold for almost an hour. My teeth were chattering. My hands were bright red. I was shaking. I had told her before starting that if we feel like we’ve had enough, and are too cold, after three outfits we can quit. The last outfit I can easily make into a Reel by myself. As long as I had some professional photos of the first three outfits, I was (and am) perfectly happy to end the session. And so we did! Not before warming up in the J.Crew men’s store who were so gracious in letting me use their dressing room to change into warmer clothes.
What I am watching: Stranger Things is finally back! And honestly, I needed that review to remember what the hey-hey is going on. It’s been 3 years since the last season, and almost 10 years since the first, I needed that refresher. I have only seen the first 2 episodes and thought they were both good! I am curious on how they are going to end it. I have an idea on what it could be, and it’s one that people are not going to like.
I finally got around to starting The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and it once again does not disappoint. Each episode thus far is excellent. I am so happy Demi is out! I’ve never liked her, and her behavior at the event was the perfect example as to why. I also love that they broke some sort of 4th wall by showing and talking about all the drama behind shooting the promos. Usually we do not get to see that stuff.
And also, yeah…. I now understand why Whitney was voted off DWTS after episode 5. I knew she mentioned only wanting to come back because of the opportunity, but I didn’t realize how almost smug and egotistical she sounded. I am all for one going after their dreams and not being afraid to speak them into existence. However, there should be some gratitude within that drive. With that being said…. I still think she should have been in the finale of DWTS.
What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new this week, but have my eye on a few items like this matching knit pants and sweater set.

This weekend I am going back uptown to my friend’s holiday party. Plus going to watch the Park Ave Christmas tree lighting. It should be a great time being with friends and enjoying a little holiday festivity. Tomorrow I am heading downtown to the Barefaced and In My Sundays event that is taking place all weekend long- so stop by!
Have a wonderful weekend xo
