“Begin at once to live, and count each separate day as a separate life”

-Seneca

Happy Friday! I have my window open, enjoying the summer breeze. My book is ready to be opened after I finish my work. The lazy days of summer are here and I am soaking up every bit of it.

Last weekend I ventured downtown to Soho, going in and out of shops. I mostly wanted to see the Sporty & Rich store for the first time. It’s been open for almost 2 years now and I have yet to stop by. I liked how they had a bunch of vintage books on fitness and a variety of sports as their decor. I didn’t buy anything but I am eyeing this hat and this pullover. Afterwards I stopped by the Shopify’s PlayLab Beauty pop-up. It was filled with all Korean skincare and makeup brands. I wish I could have taken some samples home, but I did test out a few while I was there.

I left Soho and made my way to the Greenwich because I wanted to sit outside of Marian’s and read my book. Well, of course, they didn’t have their outdoor seating that day…. the one day I wanted to go! So instead I just went home. I was getting tired of walking around. Plus I humiliated myself and felt this was God telling me to just go home. While walking to Marian’s I, carelessly, was looking at my phone and missed the curb. I was aware of the curb, I just didn’t bring my foot up high enough. Needless to say I stumbled forward and almost face planted to the floor. I stopped myself with one hand, in what I would describe as a football stance. I popped right up and looked at the two random guys next to me who had come closer to help me and said “well that was fun”. Then kept walking while laughing with them. Luckily I wasn’t injured; no skinned knees or hands, and no joint pains.

The rest of my week was luckily accident free. I went to the Morgan Library yesterday for the first time ever. Finally crossing that off my NYC bucket list. I went to see the Jane Austen exhibition. At the exhibit they had letters between Jane and her sister Cassandra, showed first editions of all her books, had a replica of one of her silk pelisses, and  muchmore. One thing I learned is that there is only one known illustration of Jane when she was alive– illustrated by her sister Cassandra. Every portrait you have seen is based off of that sketch. It was a nice exhibit and makes me want to go reread her books. After seeing the Jane Austen exhibit I ventured over to J.P Morgan’s private library. I was in complete awe of it. The floor to ceiling bookshelves, the stunning mosaic ceilings, the artifacts, it was all so beautiful. Two noteworthy artifacts was the bedazzled Lindau Gospels and the Stavelot Triptych which has remininates of the True Cross of Jesus. Both were a site to see!

The rest of my week was mostly work and creating content. I have a new Account Executive at LTK, so had a quick introductory meeting with her. I am excited to work with her and brainstorms strategies for my blog/socials. Hoping to help me take this to another level. I do feel a little stagnant in my content and want to progress it in some shape or form.

What I bought: I just had to get this cute skirt for the fall season. I do not have that many fall skirts, so this is perfect. I can wear it now with a simple white t-shirt or blouse, then switch it up with a sweater once the weather gets cooler. I also bought my favorite night time collagen cream— it feels like silk.

What I am watching: I binged watched the entire docuseries Quarterback on Netflix. And when I say binge watched, I just mean I fast forward to the Joe Burrow parts. Sorry but I do not know, nor do I care, about the other two quarterbacks. I am not an NFL fan. I will watch the Super Bowl, and a little bit of the Chiefs games here and there if Taylor Swift is there, but I do not have a favorite team I follow. Anyway, I do like Joe Burrow – and not because he is good looking, though that surely helps, but because he is an Ohio kid like me. He went to OSU, which I actually am a fan of (prefer college football). I also went to Ohio University which is in Athens, Ohio where Joe Burrow grew up. I have somewhat of a connection to him, so like to follow his career. Plus I love that he is into fashion.I enjoyed the docuseries and getting to learn more about his personal life as well as what he goes through on the field. It’s truly an intense position.

I watched the new Netflix movie My Oxford Year starring Sofia Carson and Corey Mylchreest. I thought it was going to be a feel-good romcom… it is not. I shed a few tears while watching it. I really liked it though! Makes me want to move to London and find myself an English Aristocratic boyfriend.

This weekend I have a birthday brunch celebration for one of my friends. I am excited to get together and celebrate! Other than that I will be doing my usual weekend ritual of reading and frolicking around. I will go for a run on the West Side Highway at some point. I started running again a few weeks ago after taking a year off. I only like to run a mile then walk 3 miles, so it hasn’t been hard getting back into the swing of things. I can finish the mile, but am sore the next day.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
