“Everything comes to you at the right time”

-Budda

Happy Friday! This was the first week since March that I haven’t been busy, nor had any plans. Sometimes it’s nice to have a quiet week.

Over the weekend I finally saw the broadway musical Death Becomes Her. I was suppose to see it a month ago but Megan Hilty, one of the leads, had a vocal cord injury and I really wanted to see her perform. Luckily I was able to return my ticket and purchase a new one. The show is incredible!!!! The comedic timing is flawless. I was cracking up the entire time! Besides the jokes, the singing was obviously incredible as well. I mean how can you not be blown away by Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, and Michelle Williams!! I highly, HIGHLY, recommend seeing this broadway show! Has easily become one of my favorites.

Last weekend I did my usual frolicking around the city. All I wanted to do was to sit outside with a glass of lemonade (or rosé) and read my book. However, I notice there weren’t many cafes with outdoor seating in the West Village. It seems all the cafes – looking at you Rosecrans- no longer offer outdoor seating. I find that to be a tragedy. Majority those who had outdoor seating were restaurants, and I didn’t want to take up space from people who wanted to have a sit-down meal. I was disappointed to say the least.

Instead of enjoying a peaceful moment at a cage, I decided to finally stop by the oldest apothecary not only in New York but in the US, CO Bigelow. Made famous to us girlies by Carolyn-Bessette Kennedy. It’s where she bought her headbands. I have always wanted to stop by and check it out. In my 13 years of living in New York I am shocked I haven’t done so sooner– considering I live somewhat close by. Anyway, since I am reading the Carolyn-Bessette Kennedy’s biography Once Upon a Time, it seemed like the perfect time to finally check out the famous Greenwich apothecary. It is bigger than I thought, and very busy. I wanted to buy a hair piece just so I can say I bought it from CO Bigelow. I was going to get a miniature claw clip until I saw it was $12 for just one. And I hate to be that person… but… I can get a pack of miniature claw clips on Amazon for $7. Anyway, if you are ever in Greenwich and a fan of CBK, definitely check it out!

The rest of my week consisted of creating content, had a few meetings, and planned my birthday. My 40th birthday is in a month (insert tears) and I am planning on a few small celebrations. My family will be in town that weekend to celebrate, then I am going out to dinner to a nice restaurant with a few close friends. Originally I wanted a small gathering, perhaps a dinner party, but it’s so hard to get people together in the summer. Everyone I know is either in Europe, the Hamptons, or vacationing somewhere fabulous. An intimate weekday dinner is perfect for me. Truth be told I am a little bummed about not having something bigger. I am a little sad about it, but after speaking to a bunch of my friends the time and money spent on it wouldn’t be worth it since no one will be in town. The sorrows of having an August birthday. I know it’s silly, and I am too old to care about a birthday party, but I wanted to spend the day celebrating with the people I love here in New York. It will still be a wonderful time with family and my dinner party.

What I am watching: I binged watched the entire first season of We Were Liars on Prime. It was very good! Not at all what I was expecting! I didn’t watch any trailers prior, so wasn’t sure of the plotline going into it. I just saw a bunch of people online talking about how good it was and I needed something new to watch. I thought it was going to be a cheeky teen show with a mystery, sorta like Pretty Little Liars, but it’s much more than that. I do not want to give anything away, but the ending completely shocked me!

Ever since I saw the photos of Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson filming together I knew a rewatch of Dawson’s Creek was exactly what needed to be done. The perfect end-of-summer vibes show! I’ve seen Dawson’s Creek plenty of times, but it’s been a few years since my last rewatch. I will always be a Pacey and Joey stan!

What I bought: I ended up buying this pretty geometric print maxi dress. It’s the perfect summer to fall transitional piece; love the colors and mixed patterns.

I started reading the 4th and final book of the Rebel Blue Ranch series, Wild and Wrangled. I really enjoyed the book series and sad to see it end!

This weekend I have nothing planned. I do want to go out for a glass or two of rosé, perhaps during happy hour outside somewhere. Maybe with friends or bring my book. Whatever floats my boat at the moment. That does sound lovely! Whatever I end up doing, I will be enjoying summer in the city.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
