“All things grow with love”

-anon

Happy Friday! The sun has come out and the heat is on. I’ve switched from complaining about the rain to complaining about the humidity.

Besides being a professional weather complainer, my week was filled with dance and music. I went to see the American Ballet Theatre’s production of Woolf Works. A contemporary ballet based off of Virginia Woolf’s novels, diaries, and essays. This is my second time seeing the production and I enjoyed it. It’s not my favorite ballet production, but it was nice to see it again. The second piece, Becomings, I remember was my favorite the first time I saw the production. It was once again my favorite this time around with its laser beams, Victorian style costumes, and modern infused movements. The evening was lovely and I always enjoy being at the ballet.

The rest of my week was all work and little fun. I did stumble upon a cool art installation in Chelsea. On the corner of 27th and 10th there is a gated art installation that is filled with flamingos, pink basketball hoops and balls, and pink on the pavement. Then a big sign that says “NYC Is Never Dull”. I wish I knew who created the installation, but unfortunately I forgot to look at the plaque– was too busy trying to capture the right angle so I didn’t photograph the fence.  Anyway, these moments of surprise are why I love living here. You never know what you will stumble upon… like how last week I stumbled upon a kink and leather subculture street fair. I saw more body parts than I cared to for a Sunday afternoon, but good for them for finding their people. I love New York!

What I am watching: I binged watched the season 3 of Ginny and Georgia on Netflix. I really enjoyed this season, thought it was so good!  I liked how they added more storylines for the side characters like Marcus. His storyline is so sad but also so very real. I LOVED Georgia’s courtroom style– need to know what and who she wore. I already can’t wait to see what happens next in season 4.

What I bought: I felt compelled to buy myself another white skirt. White midi/maxi skirts are a big trend right now and I finally found one that I like (so many of the ones I liked were out of stock!). The elastic waist will make it comfortable and I love the subtle fold-over detail of the hemline.

This weekend I am FINALLY going to see the Broadway musical Sunset Blvd with Nicole Scherzinger!! I know people have difference of opinions of her, but she CAN SING!! I can’t wait to hear her voice and also to experience the musical for the first time. I honestly have no idea what the show is about, but I am excited!! The rest of my weekend will be filled with my usual reading (started this book), frolicking around, and a little bit of yoga.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
