“Life is the flower for which love is the honey”
-Victor Hugo
Happy Friday! Oh how I am so over the rain. It feels never ending. I need the sun on my face, a light breeze, and flowers blooming everywhere. Give me summer!
This week I had a pinch me moment! I was invited to an event hosted by Threads celebrating Martha Stewart’s new gardening handbook. Yes, the original influencer herself was there to talk about her best gardening tips and tricks. She discussed anywhere from how to maintain a vegetable garden to which flowers are best for different climates. I learned that the correct pronunciation for herbs is with the “h” sound. So you say herbs, not erbs. Her example: Herbert not erbert. If Martha says that’s the proper pronunciation, then that is what I am going to say.
Martha was pretty funny during her Q&A panel discussion. A little snarky at times which made me giggle. She answered gardening questions from celebrities like Serena Williams and Seth Meyers, questions submitted through Threads, and ones taken by the audience. It was very informative! After the panel discussion we had food and drinks prepared by Martha’s long time personal chef; vegetables from her garden, corn cakes with guacamole, strawberry pastries, and more. We each received a copy of her book and an herb to take home– I took home curled parsley which I use a lot when I cook. She did do a stop and repeat but the line was so long and she didn’t do it for very long. I, unfortunately, didn’t get to meet or take a picture with her, which was a bummer! Still I have the best time! I can’t believe I got to be in the same room, listening to gardening advice, with Martha FREAKING Stewart!!!
The event was the highlight of my week. The rest was filled with work stuff and mustering through this gloomy weather.
What I am watching: I started watching the new comedy series The Studio starring Seth Rogen and bunch of other celebs (lots of cameos) on AppleTV. I think it’s ok. I like the storyline, some parts are funny, and the way it’s shot is beautiful. However, Seth Rogen is a hit or miss for me. Sometimes I think he is hilarious, other times I do not find him to be funny at all. This is how I view the show. He does a lot of, what I call, frustration comedy. It’s creating a running joke out of a problem; instead of doing a joke here and there then move on, you instead build on the problem until it becomes infuriating. For example: When he kept ruining the shot while visiting the film set. It’s funny at first but then I am like, ok either fix it or move on. I do like the show overall and will continue to watch it.
I also started Overcompensating starring Benito Skinner on Prime. Everyone on social has been raving about so I gave it a go. I would say that I find it both brainless and heartwarming. A lot of the jokes are crude, which isn’t really my thing. However, it is pretty funny overall. I love the relationship between Benny and Carmen. That’s my favorite part of the entire show. The show is also relatable in a way; trying to figure out who you are. Wanting to be the real you all while trying to fit in.
What I bought: I ended up buying this linen mini dress to wear throughout the summer. I love how easy it will be to throw on, yet still look chic. The linen will be great for hot summer days.
I was sent a PR box for a new book, The Expat Affair by Kimberly Belle. Releasing June 3rd- very soon! All I know is that it’s a murder mystery located in Amsterdam, which will be fun!

Memorial Day Weekend snuck up on me! I forgot to do a style guide, let alone make plans for it. I will be here in the city avoiding the rain. I will probably meet up with some friends for a drink and/or brunch. Mostly enjoy some time off; reading, working out, shopping around the city. And getting ready for my trip home to Ohio.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
