“Go to the garden when you need to remember that everything is love”

Happy Friday! From books to dancing to playing New York Time’s puzzle games, this week was pleasurable. With the sun shining, it’s starting to feel like spring. At least being on the cusp. I can’t wait until the Cherry Blossom trees bloom, grass returns, and the weather warming my skin. Ready for spring!

It was book club week! Monday evening I went to the Moxy Hotel in Chelsea for the Guest of a Guest book club gathering. This month we read Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I thought it was cute and light-hearted. I know some of the book club attendees didn’t particularly like this one (a lot did though!) because of the lack of conflict. There isn’t much conflict, but I did not mind that at all. I thought the conflict was very relatable. For me, what made me enjoy the book so much was the parallels it has to Saturday Night Live and how the show operates the week leading up to Saturday. I found it fascinating. Anyway, the book club was fun! As always I chatted with some of the regulars and met new members.

I got up bright and early the next day for DanceBody. I haven’t been attending as much this past month as either my schedule didn’t align or they replaced the class with something else for the day. I am glad I was able to go this past week! I did much better than the previous class I took two weeks ago. At least I had energy this time. I was also surprised by how much I do know the dances, despite not really doing them as often as I normally would. We are now in the last month of Q1, which means they will be changing up the songs, but keeping the dances- it’s an added challenge.

The rest of my week was not as exciting as I gathered up my taxes and ran errands that I have been putting off. The weather has been on and off nice; with the sun making its wonderful appearance. Last Saturday I frolicked around Soho. With the sun on my face, and going from store to store running my hands through different garments, it was a lovely day! Exactly what I needed. Not only do I enjoy browsing new collections at stores, I also love to look at the decor. Ralph Lauren is such store that I will go into sometimes just to look at the decor. Tory Burch as well. I find it just as inspiring as the clothes.

Are you playing NYT Connections? I started late last week and am addicted to the game. The first few days I thought were hard. However, I think once you figure out what type of categories they have it gets easier. I do have to be in total silence to concentrate though. I am currently on a 3-day winning streak with only one wrong guess, so I am pretty happy about it! NYT Connections seems to be the new Wordle.

What I am watching: I finally watched Priscilla — it’s now streaming on Amazon Prime. I enjoyed the movie and it’s nice that she gets to tell her story. However, there are a few things I didn’t like about the movie. The first being the height difference. I really like Jacob Elordi, I find him to be a good actor. However, he was too tall for the part. Jacob is 6’5 while Cailee Spaeny, who plays Priscilla, is 5’1. That is a massive height difference. Elvis was 6’0 and Priscilla is 5’4– still a difference but not over a foot. With the massive height difference it made Priscilla (Cailee) seem even more childlike. It made the age gap even creepier if I am being honest. The only other complaint I have was that I wish we could see more of Priscilla outside of her marriage to Elvis. After the divorce I mean. I think that would be interesting; what did she do? How did she support herself? Where did she live? But I know Priscilla is based off of Priscilla Presley’s book Elvis and Me. Besides my two complaints, I really did like the movie. Your heart breaks for Priscilla.

Next I binged watched Fool Me Once on Netflix. Sunday evening I didn’t have anything to watch so decided to give Fool Me Once a try. Netflix has been promoting it for over a month now. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is! I didn’t think much of it going into the show, then couldn’t stop hitting next episode. Fool Me Once is about a woman who see’s her dead husband in the nanny cam. It’s a murder mystery. What gets you hooked isn’t just the mystery of who-done-it, but each episode ends on a cliffhanger. It hooks you right in because you have to know what happens next. I thought the whole show was entertaining and clever. Highly recommend!

What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new this week– well except for a new heating pad. I did start a new book: Ready or Not by Cara Bartone. It was gifted to me by Random House. So far I am really enjoying it!

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda. It’s suppose to rain all weekend, so that will put a damper on things. I may hop over to the Chelsea Galleries to roam around and look at new exhibitions. I will most likely run even more errands that I have been putting off; clothes to Goodwill, buying hangers, etc. I will also read my book, workout, and enjoy the weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
