“Be more involved with life and less attached to it”

-anon

Happy Friday! I am ready for the weekend and some r&r. My ability to concentrate is in the gutter right now. I need a day or two to get out, be inspired, and do something new. Reset my mind and body.

I finally made it back to DanceBody after two weeks off. It was the first class, for me, to learn the summer dances. I definitely have to do the breakdown videos online for a few of them. The summer dances are always so much fun! So far I am loving Act Bad, Caught Up, Ride That Thing, and Bailer. Ok I love them all, haha! It felt so good to be back dancing and moving my body.

I had my first follow-up with my dermatologist to check in on the healing process of my face. For a quick recap for those of you who may not know; I had a terrible reaction to a microdermabrasion tool a few weeks ago that left my face looking like it was mauled. I had cuts and abrasions all across my face. Majority of it has healed thanks to the topical ointments my dermatologist prescribed. Now we are in the process of reversing the pigmentation that these abrasions have turned into. It’s going to be a long process, but I am just happy that my face looks back to normal.

Another night at the ballet! Last night I went to see the American Ballet Theatre perform Swan Lake. If there is one ballet that everyone should see it’s Swan Lake. Not only is the story a classic, but the dancing is phenomenal. A lot of people do not know this, but the technicality of the repertoire is difficult. It’s one of the hardest, most demanding ballets to perform both technically and artistically. Especially for dancer portraying Odette/ Odile- who has to do a lot of fouetté turns. The Dance of the Little Swans also known as Danse des petits cygnes is another challenging piece, but it’s so lovely to watch. The entire night was wonderful and I am sad that the summer season is almost over!

What I am watching: We are towards the end of the Wimbledon championship and I am watching match after match. At this point I am rooting for Djokovic and Jabeur to win! I will be watching the finals this weekend.

Other than Wimbledon I haven’t started a new series. I did try to watch The Bear on Hulu. Everyone raves about it on social media so I thought I’d give it a try. I didn’t make it through one episode before I turned it off. I don’t think it’s a bad show, just not my taste. I also may have not been in the mood for it as well. Maybe I will go back and finish the episode and give it a few more before deciding to never watch it again. Does it get better? Is this a show that takes you a few episodes to get into it? Help me help myself.

What I bought: The Amazon Prime Day had me restocking skincare products and buying things I have been eyeing. I first bought my favorite Vitamin C serum that was on sale. I needed a new bottle and waited until Prime Day to repurchase it. The same with my recovering night cream; waited to get it on sale. I then bought this scalp massager shampoo brush that I have been eyeing for a few months. It is still on sale for $6. I’ve already used it a few times while taking a shower and really like how it feels on my scalp. It’s also suppose to promote hair growth, get rid of dead skin and product buildup.

Last but not least I bought this batik midi dress (size small) that was part of last week’s Friday’s Simply Smitten top picks. I am heading to the Hamptons next weekend and want to wear it while I am there. Hopefully it fits!

This weekend I am going to try and join the City Girls Who Walk group. It’s a large group of women of all ages that meet every Sunday to walk together in Central Park. It’s a great way to meet others and to exercise. I am on this new kick of joining/ trying social clubs and activities to get myself out of my comfort zone and to meet new people! Other than the walk I have nothing else on the agenda except to hopefully finish my book and enjoy the weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
