Happy Friday!! Who else is excited for the Olympics to start?! I am very much looking forward to be glued to the TV watching event after event. The sports I look forward to the most are gymnastics and swimming, but I enjoy them all…. well, the majority. I am excited to cheer on team USA and watch the greatest sporting event. A little fun fact: I went to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta with my family. You don’t really get to pick what sporting events you go to. If I remember correctly you pick your top 3 sports and they try to match it but not always. We didn’t get to see gymnastics like we wanted to. Instead we went to track and field, volleyball, and basketball. It was so fun to be there! We were also at the Centennial Olympic Park in the exact same spot about an hour before the bomb went off. Talk about God saving us.

Last weekend I went to the Museum of Modern Art. I knew it was going to rain at some point and I haven’t been to the MoMA in years, so figured it was the perfect day to do so. They currently have an exhibition on automobiles. Not usually my thing per se, but it is neat to look at vintage cars. I didn’t get to see the entirety of the exhibit because it was partially outside, and by the time I was able to view that portion it was pouring down rain. I could look outside and see some of the cars, but not up close. Luckily they had a few vintage cars inside: a convertible Jaguar, a Volkswagen, and a helicopter. Besides the automobile exhibit, I was mostly there for the artwork. They have an exhibit on Cézanne drawings which was lovely to see. He was known for his still life paintings and well as sketches of his family.  MOMA also has works from Picasso and van Gogh which is always wonderful to see. Who doesn’t love van Gogh’s Starry Night. The entire day was exactly what I needed; filled with art and wonderment.

At the start of this week I had very little motivation to do anything. The only thing I cared to do was learn the dances for this quarter in DanceBody. I went to my very first class since pre-pandemic last weekend. I was dying during the class, but I loved every moment. I was so sore for the next few days. I could barely move. Anyway, I am 3 weeks behind everyone else learning the dances. I was getting pretty frustrated at myself– it’s the dancer in me– but I had to remind myself that I can’t predict a movement that I don’t know. I do not know what movement will come next, it’s a follow-along and my first time seeing it. Still the virgo and dancer in me was getting frustrated at how much I sucked. So this past week I decided to get on DanceBody’s online streaming service and learned 3 dances. Thus far. Will probably tackle two more today, and practice the ones I’ve already learned in time for class tomorrow. What can I say, I enjoy learning dances and doing them!

Besides being a crazy- lady perfectionist, this past week was pretty calm. I have a few collaborations that I am working on, which I am very excited about! I’ve also been working on tackling logistical things I have been putting off. Yesterday I went for a very long walk around West Village and Soho. Mostly hoping to run into the filming of Sex and The City. It seems those are the locations they have been filming in recently. Although I did not get to see the beloved show, I did enjoy going in and out of cute shops around the area. I stopped by the Music Inn on w 4th to browse. It’s my favorite music store that has great vintage instruments and albums. It’s also where The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel filmed, I believed in season 1. I also stopped by Sweet Rehab to grab something sugary to eat, but unfortunately they did not have anything gluten free. Instead I just stared at their delicious looking tarts through the glass display window. It was so nice to get out and take a long walk. It was exactly what I needed.

What I am watching: Last week I watched season 1 of Never Have I Ever. I also attended the VIP premiere event. This week I binged watched season 2. It is such a cute show and highly recommend. I didn’t think of this during season 1, but it dawned on me this season; Davi goes to therapy. The importance of a high schooler going to therapy like it’s normal is huge. I’ve never seen any teen show where the person goes to therapy and actually enjoys it. Maybe a character will go for an episode or two, but it’s not part of the show. Davi never says she enjoys it, but you can tell by the way she continuously runs to her therapist. I really applaud Mindy Kaling for included it and not making it a big deal. Davi doesn’t get made fun of for it or really fights going.

I also watched the new Marvel movie Black Widow and absolutely loved it! It’s one of the best Marvel movies, in my opinion. It was funny, action filled, and heartwarming. I was confused, as I do with all Marvel movies, at where it lands on the timeline, but you really do not need to know that to enjoy the movie. Looking forward to more Black Widow movies to come (if there is).

What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new this week except necessities. I did receive new shoes from Nina Shoes–gifted to me after I went to their event a few weeks ago. They gifted me these cute bow scrappy sandals, which are perfect for weddings and events. I received the pearl rose color, but it also comes in white and navy. Also this week I was gifted this floral dress from byTiMo from The Avenue. I am pretty excited to wear it and take photos!

Oh, I also bought my ticket to the US Open!! So excited to sit in Arthur Ashe Stadium and watch a match!

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda except to watch the Olympics opening ceremony and the games! I promise to turn off the tv at some point and get outside. Grab a drink somewhere, maybe make dinner plans. Most likely frolic around the city that I love. And of course dance my little heart out at DanceBody.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
