I have been living in the suburbs for too long because I am now interested in gardening. A few weeks ago I went to the local garden center here in Columbus with my mom to pick up flowers for my parent’s garden. Although my dad did most of the heavy lifting and mulching, my job was to pull out the weeds, sprinkle the flower seeds, help smooth out the mulch, and water. Now I wait patiently for the flowers to bloom.

Living in the city, we are not really one with nature. The closest I can get to having my own garden is buying flowers from the local bodega and whenever I am around Christy.  Now that I have had a taste of the garden design life, I want to do more. I have always had a green thumb, even worked at my aunt’s floral and stationery shop back in college. I forgot how lovely it is to plant flowers and watch them bloom creating a beautiful landscape around your house. Now I want to live in a house so I can go wild creating my own botanical garden.

Do you have a green thumb?
