“Maybe, just maybe, your ‘someday’ is almost here.”

-faraway

Happy Friday! I love that the weather is nicer so we can spend our days outside; taking walks or sitting on the back porch. Of course, I did not pack for warmer weather; thinking I would only be in Columbus for a month and a half tops. Everything that I packed was for the winter, including turtlenecks. If I am to stay in town longer, it looks like I will have to shop online for summer clothes.

Life has been pretty much the same as it has been for the past two months; staying at home, binge-watching shows, reading, working out, riding bikes with my dad. I know I am very fortunate and am grateful not only for my physical health but for my mental health as well that I am here in Columbus. I really do not know what state I would be in mentally if I had stayed in New York. I fear I would be in a dark place. So although I am continuously frustrated and sad about COVID-19, I am trying to count my blessings.

Speaking of blessings…. NICK CORDERO IS AWAKE!! Amanda shared #CODEROCKY on her Insta Story the other day that Nick is awake from being in a coma for over a month. This is such a blessing!! Things were really up and down there for a while; bacteria in his lungs, his leg amputated, seizures, etc. But he is alive and awake and that is all that matters! I am overjoyed and so so happy for Amanda (and their son Elvis) that Nick will hopefully make a full recovery soon and will be back with his cute family. He is very weak and there is still a long process to get him back, but thank God he is awake!!! I have been praying every day for him to wake up and now that he has, well it feels like a true miracle.

Another piece of joy to share from this week; my family had Curbside Concerts stop by my grandmother’s house to entertain and brighten up her day/week…. 6 ft apart of course. My grandmother is 97yrs old (in good health btw) and has been feeling extra lonely during this pandemic. Having Curbside Concerts give her a private, mini-show made her so happy! We weren’t 100% sure when they were going to stop by, but they called my aunt and said that they were on their way Wednesday evening. My parents were at the grocery store and I was home alone watching A League of Their Own. When my mom arrived at my grandmother’s house, she called me from my aunt’s phone (she left my dad at the grocery store with her phone). The only thing my mom said to me was to quickly get over to grandmother’s house. I asked her if everything was ok and she replied yes, but I took the “yes” to be hesitant. I started shaking in tears running around the house trying to put my shoes on and grab the car keys thinking the worst– that something awful happened to my grandmother. When I finally arrived at her house, expecting to see an ambulance truck there, I instead see my grandmother sitting on a chair outside her house clapping along to music while my aunt and mom stood 6ft behind her. I am very happy and grateful this was the outcome. My mom, however, needs to learn not to say “hey come quickly” when talking about a 90-year-old woman during a pandemic. Besides my personal brought upon drama, my heart was overflowing watching my grandmother enjoy her private concert.

This weekend is supposed to be thunderstorms on and off. I am hoping for a little sunshine so I can go for a run. If not, I will be indoor finishing Outerbanks and Dead to Me. Both Netflix shows I highly recommend! Sunday is Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’ concert on ABC. I am very excited about it! Other than being a couch potato, nothing else is going on.

Have a wonderful, safe, and healthy weekend xo
