veuve clicquot polo match

A few weekends ago I attended the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. This is my second year attending the polo match and I have to say, it has become my favorite day of the year. I had so much fun drinking rosé with my friends all day laughing, dancing, and watching the match. I went with Emily, Allie, Dana, and Elle. Once again we were in the Rosé Garden which is a tented area with lounge couches and lots of beautiful Instagram moments. I wore this floral dress from Gal Meets Glam. Originally I wanted to wear it in the yellow color, but unfortunately it was backordered and wouldn’t arrive in time for the big day. I ended up buying the blue one instead and am really happy I did. I love this dress, the print is so beautiful and the bow-tie straps really gives it an extra layer of feminine touch.

We started the day early so we could be on the first ferry ride over to Liberty State Park. The reason we wanted to be on the first boat was so we can grab our section. Even though most of the Rosé Garden is tented, not every seated part is under the tent. Since most years the sun is beaming down on us, it’s nice to have some shade when you are sitting there for 5 or 6 hours. Luckily the weather was beautiful this year, unlike last year when everyone was sweating up a storm before stepping foot into the park. We got there around 11am and the game started at 2:30pm. They had a DJ playing music to entertain us before the match while we walked around taking photos, drinking rosé, and eating lunch. Once the game starts everyone gathers near the fence to watch. Nacho Figueras and his wife Delfina always play the match, sometimes on the same team, sometimes opposites. I believe Nacho and Delfina helped start the VC Polo Classic. Anyway, they are a treat to watch as they are both so good!

The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is one that I think everyone should experience at least once in their life. There is another match in LA in October that I am hoping to go to. It is loads of fun and a great excuse to dress up. I love that everyone really gets into it and dressy to the nines. You will see men in colorful suits, women in sundresses. It’s the best day I can not wait until next year!
