Happy Friday!! After a few weeks off from events I am back in the swing of things. With fashion week around the corner, more and more brands and agencies are hosting events to showcase new collections. Ugh it makes me long for summer. Seeing bikini’s and beautiful linen dresses when it is pouring down rain is hard to do. I shall survive I suppose.

Wednesday evening I went to the the launch party of Destination in Paradise. Going into it I was not quit sure what the company was about– are they a travel agency or hoteliers. DIP is luxury travel, private mansions. It’s owned by two retired men who bought 3 private mansions located in Hawaii, Cabo, and Mexico. You can rent out the a mansion for vacations or events. Sorta like an exquisite Airbnb. They had a slide show of the homes that are truly breath taking. If only I had the funds to actually stay there. Maybe someday I will.

Thursday morning I had breakfast with Draper James at Margaux at The Marlton Hotel to view their upcoming spring collection. They had their new designer Kathryn Sukey there; I really enjoyed talking to her about the new line, why she changed a few designs and how she kept Draper James true roots. Get ready for some great items coming your way! The event was nice and I loved seeing people I have not seen since before the holidays.

Besides fashion events and million dollar homes my week was pretty standard; worked out, did a few apt. showings, worked on blog stuff, etc. Last weekend I saw Bohemian Rhapsody in theaters. I LOVED IT!! Even though it was over 2 hours I still did not want it to end. Rami Malek did a phenomenal job as Freddie Mercury and deserves an Oscar! I can’t say enough great things about the movie. It really made you feel as if you were on stage with them. It was funny, heartwarming, energetic, nostalgic. I may be bias because I am a big fan of Queen. I have been a fan since I was little and saw the famous car scene in Wayne’s World. Since then I have loved listening to their music, even have an old band t-shirt of theirs. I also think Freddie Mercury is a musical genius– Bohemian Rhapsody is the greatest song ever written. I will go to my grave saying it. You can throw at me Stairway to Heaven, Like A Rolling Stone or Imagine, but I will still say Bohemian Rhapsody is the greatest song. Is it my favorite song? No, I don’t really have one. Why I think it is the greatest song– it completely changed the way we view music. While songs follow a pattern- verse, chorus, verse, chorus- BR never has a chorus. It essentially 4 songs thrown beautifully together. They start off with an acapella/ballad that leads to an operatic piece to a rock banger and ends with a ballad. It’s brilliant and it’s 6 minutes long. And the fact that is has stand the test of time, it’s timeless. I read somewhere that when Freddie Mercury died in ’91 they re-released the song and it was at No.1 on charts for 16 weeks. Tell me what other song can/ has done that! Do I think Queen is the greatest band ever? No, probably top 5. I would probably say The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are better. But still, Bohemian Rhapsody is a great, great song! Also go see the movie!

I still have a few movies left on my nominee list. Hoping to cross off another one this weekend or next. This weekend will be pretty busy though. I have a friend in town from San Diego on a girls trip that at some point will meet up with. Tomorrow I am attending Maggie Wu’s showcase. Maggie Wu is a new to me designer, I am excited to see her new collection. Tomorrow night I have Elena, from A New York Love Affair, and her husband’s birthday party to go to. I am so excited for it since I have not seen them since the beginning of the holiday. It should be a fun weekend!

Have wonderful weekend xo
