Whether they are starting out on their fitness journey or hits the gym everyday, activewear is one of the best holiday gifts you can give. As someone who enjoys working out I always have a fitness item or two on my list to Santa. I am constantly in the market for a new pair of leggings or tanks. Lately I have been trying to expand my fitness collection with more colors  and patterns. I usually wear all black (which you probably have noticed from all of my Insta Stories) to workout in, but lately I have been wanting to add some color. I bought these pants from Outdoor Voices recent and love them– if you are between sizes I say go up, they are compression leggings which means they are tight. I bought my normal size which does fit and I do love the compression, sucking everything in, but on days when I feel bloated or gained a few pounds it’s a little hard to breath….  call me crazy but I like to breath.

An item that I find over looked sometimes when shopping for activewear is an item in which we throw over our tank and under our jackets. Whether it’s a sweatshirt or a zip-up, especially in the winter time, is nice to have on when you do your warm up. Then you can take it off once you get your heart pumping. Fitness equipment is also great to have in my opinion. Sometimes you do not have the time to go to your favorite workout class, having equipment at home will help you get in a quick sweat session. 10 minutes of jump rope will do wonders for you, sliders are an amazing workout for your legs, and weights are a must have. For Christmas I am asking for these weighted bangles which can go on either your wrist or ankles. A lot of the fitness studios that I attend use them and they really do elevate your workout.

Active running shoes are always in need. I believe you are suppose to replace your shoes every 6 months (?). ASICS are one of my favorite brands. I have been getting plantar fasciitis in both of my feet on and off since college, so finding the right pair is important. Other brands would constantly give me foot problems, ASICS do not. A few of my fitness instructors recommended that wear them; them having similar issues with foot inflammation. They all sweared by ASICS. Now I understand why, my feet have yet to inflame. I suggest finding the right shoe brand for your body and for the activities you do.

I love how intertwined fitness has become in our culture. It’s a social gathering, fashion runway, and sweat session all packed into one hour. Activewear is a gift all of your loved one will truly appreciate– even if their idea of working out is online shopping.
