Now that Thanksgiving is over I am in full Christmas mode! Over the break I helped my parents decorate their house and put lights up outside. Christmas music was streaming, Hallmark movies were on, and I started to organize my holiday events. This is my favorite time of the year. Everything is so lovely and happy. It’s truly magical.

I have a few parties and events coming up this month which means I need to be holiday ready. Last month I went shopping for a silver or grey silk skirt to wear to parties and had no intention on buying anything red. This was until a retail employee handed me this red pleated skirt over the door of the dressing room, asking me to at least try it on. As I did I realized this skirt was exactly what I wanted this season. I ended up only purchasing it and not any of the other silk skirts I tried on (ended up buying this silk skirt later on, but that is another riveting shopping story for another day). Anyway, this skirt is so full of life and cheer. I love twirling around in it– perfect to rock around the Christmas tree in. Here I styled it with a simple white turtleneck sweater but would easily pair it with a silk blouse, something a little more elevated. With a beautiful skirt like this you would get a lot of use out of it during the season and even afterwards. I am planning on wearing it for Fashion Week this coming February and to probably a few more events afterwards. But until then I am going to enjoy twirling around in it this holiday season.
