When I think of summer dresses the first style that comes to mind are cami dresses. What is a cami dress? Well first, cami is short for camisole, the undergarment ladies wear. When it comes to a cami dress it simply means the dress has shoulder straps that are thin. Having thin straps are perfect for hot summer days.
This floral cami dress from MDS Stripes (also found here) screams under the summer sun from day to night. We are in the midst of the sunshine season where it is humid all day and night. Sometimes unbearable. A cami dress is perfect to keep you cool throughout the day. What I love about this floral dress is that I can wear it anywhere and to any occasion. When I shop for items, before I purchase it, I like to envision myself wearing it at a certain place and/or event. For this dress I visioned myself wearing it roaming the streets of Tuscany. Then I imagined me wearing it in Nantucket while having drinks outside. Since neither one has happened yet, I guess I will have to settle for a lunch date at Laudrée eating macarons with friends. Sigh, like is not fair 😉

To be honest what really drew me to this floral cami dress was not the straps, but the print of the dress itself. It sorta has a 70’s vibe with the colorful florals. It’s pretty to look at and comfortable to wear. I feel not only feminine and chic in it, but comfortable enough to move around in the humid hot weather. The perfect cami dress for summer!
