4th of july

I am finally back home from an amazing weekend in the Hamptons! My skin is on fire and I look like a lobster but I had one of the best weekends of my life there (which I will tell you more about in a later post). I would be a little bit more sad to be back in the city if the 4th of July was not next week! This Saturday I am heading home to Columbus, Ohio for a long week vacation. I am not only celebrating the holiday with my family, but also celebrating the baptism of my beautiful angel of a niece.

Where I grew up, Upper Arlington, Ohio, the 4th of July is a BIG deal. The holiday is when the high school class reunions take place, so everyone from all ages are back in UA. The day starts off with an early morning parade which is filled with street floats, high school sports, reunion floats, bands, alumni associations, random stuff, and of course the Big Golden Bear. Following the parade everyone in town just hops from party to party all day long until the fireworks at the park later that evening. I really can not wait to see my family, friends, and to celebrate the 4th the best way I know how– in Upper Arlington.

What are your plans for the 4th?!
