The sun on your face, a book in your hands, and not a care in the world–yes, this is what summer is made of! For most it’s also the time to relax and catch up on your pleasure reading. While it seems all of my Facebook friends are jetting off on vacation, they are also in need of book suggestions. This is a question I too frequently ask; “does anyone have any good book suggestions?.” Reading is one of my favorite things to do; the chance to get lost in a story, fall in love with characters of heroism, humility, and hilarity. If you are searching for a new book, here is a list I have read, are currently reading and planning to read.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

All about getting what you want by working hard for it, this book goes through her struggle and success in starting her own business.  Following your passion and trusting your gut, you will leave feeling motivated and ready to confidently succeed in whatever you do. If you are dreaming of having your own start-up, I recommend reading this!

Where’d You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple— Trying to find her mother, Bee compiles a list of e-mail messages, documents, and secret correspondence that will take her on a journey. In a hilarious, witty story, this book is about a relatable relationship between mother and daughter.
The One And Only by Emily Giffin— A unique story about love and loyalty. Shea Rigsby is very devoted to her town and her former college school. After her best friends mother dies, Shea reevaluates her life. This book is about following your heart and finding your passion.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green— Read it before you see the movie!  A beautiful novel about two teenage cancer patients who choose to stay optimistic with their lives as they fall in love, reminding you what is most important in life. So beautifully written, I was in love with every word. warning: keep a box of tissues near by.
