During New York Fashion Week I spent the majority of it at events. I really wanted to get myself out there, meet new people, and say yes to new things. Whether I was surrounded by the Upper East Side elite at SAKS or a small intimate gathering of influencers at Baublebar, each event I went to held a different experience. It didn’t matter to me whether or not the event was mind-blowing, what I got was an added endeavor to my overall incredible fashion week experience.

One of the first events I attended during the week was Style Collective’s annual blogger party at Inside Park.  I, unfortunately, was only there no more than 15 minutes as I had to rush over to SAKS for their presentation and event. I wish I could of have stayed longer at SC’s party, get to know people better, but because of timing I could not. What I did experience at the party was sure to be a fun event– they had some games, a Photo Booth, and yummy hor d’oeuvres. I basically blew in, said hi to Annie the CEO/Founder of Style Collective, and left. Luckily Inside Park is only a 5 minute walk to SAKS on 5th ave.

The SAKS event was a very different NYFW experience. Most of fashion week is filled with blogger events, meet-ups, etc. SAKS was UES elite (the Real Housewives were there), industry professionals, top shoppers, and more. It was a very mixed crowd that is for sure. The event started with a red carpet walk– which was  bizarre having people behind a barrier trying to figure out who you are walking the red carpet, then get disappointed when they figure out you are no one. Ha. During the red carpet they had their presentation in the window displays. You walked passed the presentation and into SAKS to head up to their 3rd floor. They remodeled the 3rd floor, which is their designer collection; Chanel, Dior, Oscar de la Renta, etc. Smart idea if you ask me– get NYC top shoppers in a room together, hand them endless amounts of champagne with little to no food and watch them spend their deposable incomes on designer clothing. Smart SAKS, very smart! Since I am not a Real Housewife I did not spend my pretty pennies on a new Chanel bag, instead I went in their installation room, got my picture taken on the 360 Photo Booth, and listened to Goldfrapp play. It was a pretty great event!

To both the Style Collective and SAKS event I ended up wearing this dress from Kate Spade that I got from Rent The Runway. Always use RTR when you can! They are a lifesaver!  For the rest of my events I wore either an outfit I already pre-owned or  these wide legged pants with a different top.  When shopping for New York Fashion Week I tried to push past my comfort zone a little. I bought these wide-legged pants as a plan B. I even bought them with the idea in mind that I wouldn’t wear them and would end up returning them. Little did I know I would wear them for most events and have plans to wear them again to another event in a few weeks. I love how comfortable they are and how I can dress them up or down. I got so many compliments on it too. My body is not the type that can wear wide-legged pants, so when these worked out so perfectly, I was happy to have a different, new look to my wardrobe.

One of the events I wore these wide-legged pants to was an intimate gathering for Vogue. We watched The September Issue while mingling and eating yummy snacks. Another intimate gathering I went to was for Baublebar. We got a preview of their fall and holiday collection, which looks amazing!  I got these bauble earrings in red that I can not wait to wear!

I closed out New York Fashion Week with the Baublebar event. It was a nice relaxing morning and I got to meet a few bloggers whom I have not run into before. You can check out part 1 of my fashion week experience here. And stay tuned for part 3 when I talk about my two favorite events and shows of the week!!!
