“be messy and complicated and afraid but show up anyways.”

Happy Friday!! Or should I say happy 3-day weekend…although I forgot it was a long weekend until yesterday, but then again I thought yesterday was Friday…so here we are. Anyway, it’s going to be one snowy weekend here in NYC. I am excited for it. Bring on the rosy cheeks and frostbite hands I am ready to play in the snow!

“decide what kind of life you actually want. then say ‘no’  to everything that isn’t that.”

Happy Friday!! I have finally adjusted to post-holiday life. My workouts are not as brutal (last Friday at Megan’s class I laughed the entire time at how weak I was), I do not feel as if I need a million years of sleep, and dry January is still going strong. This is how you know you are old folks. When it takes you a week or two to get over the holidays. Luckily it was another eventless week so I could relax and not feel overwhelmed. Next week I have a few events on the schedule but until then I am enjoying spending my days at home working instead of rushing from here to there.

“take a leap of faith and begin this wondrous new year by believing. Believe in yourself.

And believe that there is a loving source just waiting to be asked to make yours dreams come true.”

Happy Friday!! And a Happy New Year! It is strange to think that NYE was only a few days ago, feels more like a week. I had the best time ringing in the new year with friends at the Brooklyn Heights Social Club. New Year’s Eve isn’t my favorite day of the year. I recently read an article that said “NYE is fine, it’s just fine.” If you go out you feel overwhelmed by the crowd, paid too much, and wish you stayed home or did something low key. If you stayed home or did something low key you get FOMO and wish you were ringing in the new year with a bang as you watch your Insta Stories of everyone else at a party. NYE is just fine– it’s neither great or terrible. That is how I view it. But still I had a good time– could of have been worse, could of have been better. At least I danced most of the night– which is always a plus for me.

Happy New Year! I rang in the new year the same way I spent 2018– in the moment. It wasn’t until this past year that I truly grasp what being in the moment means. I spent New Year’s Eve at the Brooklyn Heights Social Club, the rooftop bar in 1 Hotel. It had a panoramic view of Manhattan, and from where our table was located, a clear view of the Statue of Liberty. Knowing New York lets off fireworks at midnight, and having yet to see them, I was prepared. As the ball dropped and the fireworks started to explode by Lady Liberty I felt a serge of gratitude and surrealness. It was the pinch me feeling I often get with the realization that I am living in New York; when you feel like you can’t believe this is your life. It lasted only a moment and then I was back to embracing my friends and dancing the night away in celebration for coming year
