“But love has ways of bringing things back to life”

-Taylor Swift

Happy Friday! I am back in New York after a long trip to Ohio to visit my family for the 4th. It was nice to just relax and spend some time with them. However, I am happy to be back in the city and ready to dive back into work, nights out with friends, and fun events.

Most of my time spent with my family consisted of lazy days by the pool. I love laying out, reading a book, and floating around the pool.It felt great to be in the water, swimming without a care in the world. It’s really the only time in the summer that I get to take a dip.

The 4th of July was great, unfortunately it rained so put a little damper on a few plans. We started the day at the parade that was put on by the civic association of our suburb. It’s always fun to see the high school band, sports teams, neighborhood floats, the OSU alumni band, and much more. We have one of the biggest parades in Columbus, and we take it very seriously. After the parade my parents and I just relaxed at home and watched Wimbledon while getting ready for our family cookout. We were originally planning on having it outside, unfortunately it started raining and we had to move everything inside. This also meant we didn’t go to the park to watch the fireworks. Even though it was a much tamer 4th we did enjoy ourselves. And I relished in every moment spent with my nieces.

Since being back I have been working, trying to catch up on my blog, and more. Last night I went to the my last ballet performance of the American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Season. I am so sad it’s over, but it was once again an incredible season. Last night I saw the classic ballet Sylvia; a mythological tale of a huntress who distaste love until the God of Eros makes her fall in love with a Shepard. Chloe Misseldine gave a wonderful performance as Sylvia; her ability to transition her movements from strong to soft was lovely to watch. This was the first time I have seen Chloe perform as a principal dancer, and hopefully not the last! Calvin Royal III was also brilliant as Aminta (the Shepard). He also has the loveliest movements.

What I am watching: My parents and I binged watched the entire season of I Will Find You on Netflix starring Sam Worthington, Milo Ventimiglia, Britt Lower, and more. We all really enjoyed it! I thought it had a lot of great twist and turns; and you end up not trusting anyone!

Still watching Wimbledon and I am rooting for either Sinner or Frey to win the men’s. Unfortunately I was rooting for either Coco or Marta to win the women’s, but they both lost yesterday. Now I do not care who wins, but will be happy for whomever it is. This has been a great Grand Slam thus far. Djokovic versus Felix Auger-Aliassime was an incredible match; done in 5 sets with 3 tie-breakers! Thrilling! I am sad to miss Sinner versus Djokovic today since I will be at work…. or maybe I should quit to focus my time on watching tennis….

We watched a little of the World Cup. I am honestly not that interested in soccer, but have enjoyed the camaraderie of the fans around the world. I also enjoyed a few USA games until we lost. That was very unfortunate. Not sure if I will continue to watch the World Cup, maybe if nothing else is on/ Messi is exciting to watch. Perhaps I will watch the final game if I am available to.

What I bought: I ended up buying a few things that I can wear to work, while also worn out at night or to lounge in.

Mist Skirt: This sheer skirt is really chic. It’s perfecter a night out or date night. I bought it for the above, but also to wear to work. Looks great with a simple white t-shirt. For a night out I may get a strapless or off the shoulder top to wear with it.

Stripe Pants: These cotton lightweight stripe pants will be worn while lounging around the house, or to quickly run errands. I am also planning on wearing them to work. Make it an outfit that you can wear out at night by also getting the matching stripe vest.

Tank Tops: I needed new classic, simple spaghetti strap tank tops to wear during the heat of the summer. I bought this tank top in black and white. I am in between an xs and a small, so bought it in both and will return whichever one doesn’t fit. Currently on sale and under $30.
