It may not seem like it with the cold temperatures, but Memorial Day is on the horizon. I should be suggesting parkas not dresses, but I believe in staying optimistic that the sun will come out. Hopefully soon…

My Memorial Day weekend plans are to stay here in the city and enjoy, hopefully, a lovely sunny 3-days. I will be traveling right after Memorial Day, so it made sense to just stay here. But for those of you lucky ducks that get to travel, be on the beach somewhere, I have gathered items to wear during Memorial Day Weekend. And if the weather is still cold, think of these items as early planning on the 4th of July.

One item everyone needs in their closet, whether it’s a holiday or not, is a navy and white stripe sweater. It’s a classic for a reason. A great item to throw on over your dress or shorts when the night falls.

If you are heading somewhere warm, this chic and effortless column wrap dress is the one to wear. The ease of this dress is perfect for a coastal clambake, elegant enough for rooftop drinks.

Speaking of upscale Memorial Day shindigs, wear this paisley maxi skirt with a silk blouse or a strapless top. The lightweight cream linen with it’s refine structure creates a quiet luxurious look.

An item that I am currently eyeing for the 4th of July is this two-toned gingham dress. It’s so different from any other classic gingham dress you may own. I love the low-cut tie-back, creating a dramatic look while the front is demure. This is a dress you can wear to different occasions; from upscale events to casual gatherings.
