 nautical outfit

gingham top // white skirt – old (similar) // espadrilles // clutch c/o // earrings // sunglasses

The last look I am sharing from my trip to Marco Island. I know, I’ve been really milking the trip and my outfits for the past few months now. There was just so much to share! Anyway, I wore this nautical outfit out to dinner with my family. It was the perfect mixer of casual and dressy. I wore it to a slightly more elevated restaurant in Marco; which is usually very casual. I didn’t feel either underdressed or overdressed. Now I will wear this outfit out to brunch with friends, brand events, and even to throw on and run errands in during the weekends.

I have been styling this gingham top in a few different ways thus far this season. From pairing it with its matching gingham pants to keeping it casual with both off-white jeans and classical denim. It’s a top that is perfect for the spring and summer. What makes this particular gingham top stand out amongst the rest is the rope tie-waist with tassel ends. It reminds me of a sailboat, hence the nautical aesthetics. You can cinch your waist to your liking; making it a slight peplum or keeping it loose as a shell top.

At the time I didn’t have the matching pants, so instead I styled it with a simple white skirt (similar). It makes the look a little bit more relaxed. I bought this white skirt last year and find it to be very versatile. You can dress it up or down, depending on where you are going. While my skirt is no longer in stock, I linked very similar styles below. This skirt (and the ones below) are a-lined which creates a flowing, yet structural silhouette. As well as having a large fold over hem, giving the illusion of a tiered skirt.

To complete my look I added a feminine touch with this floral embroidered straw clutch. Bringing forth more colors and design to the outfit. I wore my favorite espadrille flats that I absolutely cannot get enough of. They are my go-to shoes for the day; comfortable and stylish. Shop below my look and similar styles.
