“I found the muse in myself. And I love her fiercely”

-Annie Finch

Happy Friday! It’s been another week of the good ol’ stars and stripes. Between Alysa Liu winning gold in figure skating, Amber Glenn nailing her routine and jumping the ranks, and the women’s hockey team winning in over time, it was a great day! Women dominated yesterday and it was fantastic to watch!

Not sure what I am going to do with my life next week once the Olympics are over, but that is a problem for future me. I am enjoying every bit of the Olympics and am sad it’s nearing the end. I need more figure skating in my life. How can I watch Worlds in a few weeks? While I may be glued to the Olympics, I did pry myself away to enjoy the real world.

Last weekend I went out to dinner with a few friends for Galentine’s Day. We went downtown to Dirty French in Nolita; the first time any of us have tried the restaurant. The decor was mostly rustic, and slightly eccentric with rooster statues and busts. We each got a main dish and shared sides. I got the chicken, which I thought was delicious. We even split desserts; they have gluten free chocolate cake and GF crème brûlée. We talked, laughed, and ate way too much. It was a wonderful evening and exactly what I needed!

The rest of my week was mostly focused on work, meetings, applying to background acting jobs, and a doctor’s appointment. My closet rod broke again so my super fixed it once more. While that was a minor inconvenience, it did grant me the opportunity to go through my closet and toss things into the donate pile. I am trying to be more ruthless with clothes, books, and accessories. I am starting to swim in them. Being in such a small apartment it gets cluttered easily. I am trying to implement the one in, one out rule for everything. It is hard to let go of certain items, thinking I may still wear it even though I haven’t touched it in years. Especially hard now since I do background acting and usually end up wearing my own clothes. It’s nice to have something on stand by in case it fits the costume description. Still, I need to get rid of a lot of my clothes and declutter. I am a firm believer in feng shui.

Yesterday my doctor’s appointment was in the Upper East Side, so I spent the rest of the morning walking around Madison Ave. shopping. I didn’t buy anything, more wanted to start browsing for items for my vacation next month. This white floral embroidered dress was perhaps my favorite item that I tried on.

What I am watching: Like everyone else I watched the first 3 episodes of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette on FX. And like everyone else I am obsessed with it. I have always been a fan of Carolyn Bessette, her iconic wardrobe, the handsomeness of John Jr. and their infamous relationship. The show, thus far, has been good. It makes me wish I lived in NYC in the 90s. There was something aesthetically cool about it all. Anyway, I like seeing how their relationship unfolded and how hard John Jr. had to work to even get a date with Carolyn. And that was some top tier yearning from him at the end of ep. 3. I am afraid that would have worked on me, would have made my knees weak. I can’t wait to watch the rest of the season!

I watched the movie Eternity starring Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner, and Miles Teller. I loved it!! It was humorous, yet sad.  I cried a few times throughout the movie. The ending, and the whole point of the movie, was lovely. I really recommend it!

I have been slowly going through season 4 of Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. I like this show a lot! This season has been good, but I do hope they wrap up this whole murder thing. I have one episode left and it doesn’t seem like they are going to tie it all up.

What I bought: While I am browsing for outfits to wear on vacation (you can check out what I have been eyeing here), I am also browsing for new spring items. I ended up buying this olive green vest. An item you can dress up or down, wear it with jeans or a white skirt.

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda but it does look as if we may have another snow storm. If so, I will be cooped up in my apartment for the majority of it. Otherwise I will be out and about enjoying the weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
