“It would be a tragedy if you settled for something less extraordinary than the magic you hold”

-Aija Mayrock

Happy Friday and happy Valentine’s Day!! My entire personality right now is a mixture of Bad Bunny and figure skating. I can’t think or talk about anything else. Escapism at its finest.

One of the perks of working from home is that I get to sit in front of the tv all day watching the Olympics. While I am enjoying all of the sports, figure skating is the crème de la crème for me. It’s one of the most beautiful sports. I could watch rhythm figuring skating all day long, it’s so lovely. Of course I love the more technical aspects; especially from the Quad God himself. However, I just think ice dancing is so whimsical and beauteous. I am still very upset about Chock and Bates winning silver. They were clearly robbed!!!

I was able to peel myself away from the winter games to head downtown to the Printfresh spring and summer NYFW showing. They held a private preview of the upcoming collections at the Warren Street Hotel. It was my first time at the hotel and thought it really stunning! The decor is filled with colorful artwork, gorgeous pattern furniture and decor. I had to look up the designer, Kit Kemp Design Studio, because I fell in love with the interior. Anyway, the preview was wonderful. Printfresh has a lot of new playful printed pajamas coming out– their signature. Also some great floral dresses for the spring and summer to look forward to. As well as cute decor- eyeing these embroidered bunny cocktail napkins. It was nice to catch up with some of the girls who work for Printfresh and some other influencer friends of mine.

Last night I went to see Wuthering Heights with a friend. I overall enjoyed it. It obviously does not follow the book; change of characters and their background, more romantic and intimate, and doesn’t include the second half of the book. If you go into it knowing it’s going to be different and enjoy it as is, it’s good. Catherine and Heathcliff are still vile people, so at least that is consistent. The costumes, set design, and visuals are by far the best parts! I would rewatch it just for Catherine’s costumes alone. Beyond stunning! I cried a little at the end, which was really the best part of the entire movie. Well that and the seasonal transition scene. Overall I enjoyed it.

What I am watching: It’s a week of sports! Besides the olympics I watched the Super Bowl like everyone else. I thought the game was painfully boring. It was much more of a defensive game, and I always find those to be less exciting. I like to see touchdowns. I did, however, LOVE Bad Bunny’s halftime performance! I am a big fan of his music. He played almost all of my favorite songs. I was mostly excited for “NUEVAYoL”, which is my favorite song of his. It always makes me want to dance. In fact, I haven’t stopped dancing around my apartment to his music since Sunday. Anyway, I loved all the tributes to Puerto Rico within his set design, background dancers and actors, and on his person. It was very fun and enjoyable!

What I bought: I’ve been needing a new pair of jeans and finally bought these high-waist straight jeans. I’ve been eyeing them for a while now. Still waiting for them to be delivered, so can’t speak on whether or not they are a fit. I am just tired of my current jeans that I have had for almost 10 years now. They are frayed at the hem and I want something more crisp.
