“A soul who trusts the unknown pulls miracles out from thin air”
-Matt Cooke
Happy Friday…. errr Saturday! I am a day late, but not a dollar short. I had a good reason. An exciting reason for not getting my work done on time.
The last two days I have been on set for a movie as a background actor! I can’t disclose what movie, nor anything else, but I can say that it’s a romcom. My first romcom movie that I have done and I loved getting to witness it! I swooned a little. The two days on set were long and tiring, but I love doing background work. I enjoy being on set, watching actors act, and do a little acting myself. Both days were about 10hr work days. Very long and grueling. We shot the same scene over and over and over again. I think they shot the scene from every angle. This is the first movie set I’ve been on where we didn’t shoot multiple scenes, instead focused only on one. By the end of it I could recite the monologues and do the hand gestures.
Besides being on set, I enjoyed meeting new people of all ages and backgrounds. I wore my own outfit, which was approved by wardrobe. I wore this brown suede skirt with an old J.Crew turtleneck (similar), old brown knee high boots (similar), and these gold drop pearl earrings. It’s nice when I can wear my own outfit so I can easily change without having to go through wardrobe. However, I also love when wardrobe dresses me. It’s nice to put on a costume, become someone else.
The rest of my week was not as exciting. Last weekend I basically either slept or read since I was slightly concussed. I hit my head last Thursday, which resulted in a small goose egg and a cut on my eyebrow. The next few days I felt dizzy and a little nauseous so stayed home and rested as much as possible. The swelling and discoloration has gone down. It still slightly hurts if I tough it, but overall it is much better. Just glad I didn’t have a black eye for the movie.
What I am watching: I am happy Bridgerton is back! I do wish they either released all the episodes at once or did it week by week. I do not like this 4 episodes drop with a long month wait until the rest of the season aires. I am enjoying this season, but Benedict must be truly blind for him to not get it. I also do not like how everyone knows who Whistledown is. It’s taken the allure out of it, and I find it ridiculous that the Ton (and the Queen) is vying for Penelope’s attention after ignoring her for years. Other than that I love the Cinderella storyline, and having my favorite characters back on my screen!
Did you watch The Muppet Show? Between the nostalgia and the humor, I had tears in my eyes. It was so wonderful to have the show back! I hope they green-light it for a series or at least for special occasions. I loved the Miss Piggy vs. Sabrina Carpenter feud. Them singing “Islands In The Stream” was lovely with all the animals singing in the lake. Rizzo the Rat singing “Blinded Lights” was incredible. The silliness of it all with Gonzo, Bunsen and Beaker, Statler and Wardorf, and more. I got teary eyed at the end when the entire group was singing “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. I loved it all!
Get ready for my personality to be all about the Olympic games. Mostly figure skating. I watched the 3-part docseries on Netflix called Glitter and Gold. It follows 3 prominent dance figure skating couples who will be competing in this year’s winter Olympics. It was nice to get to know the Team USA couple Chock and Bates, as well as the other two couples from different countries. I also liked learning their creative process of selecting music, designing costumes, and crafting the routine. Also how judging works, their preparations for each competition and leading up to the Olympics. And I mostly enjoyed all the tea that is happening within the figuring skating world. I am now sat and ready for the Olympics.
I enjoyed the Opening Ceremony, I thought it was lovely. Between the contemporary ballet to the opera music to the fashionable moments, it was all wonderful. I liked the big paints that spilled over onto the stage, that was fun and creative. As well as the human musical notes. I thoroughly enjoyed Andrea Bocelli and Mariah Carey’s performance. Overall I enjoyed it and am excited to watch the games over the next few weeks.
What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new this week but I do have my eye on these black knee high boots. I do not currently own this style of boot that is flat, only one with heels or ankle boots. It would be nice to wear them with leggings or skirts.

This weekend looks to be another relaxing weekend at home. It’s suppose to be very cold again, and I am still tired from my two-days on set. Plus the Olympics are on and I need to watch every second of every game, especially figure skating. Other than that I will be reading, running errands, and watching Bad Bunny’s halftime performance!!
