“Something in me wants more. I can’t rest”
-Sylvia Plath
Happy Friday and happy The Life of a Showgirl day for those that celebrate! How many times I have listened to Taylor Swift’s new album… The limit does not exist. It’s a great album and I love every single song, but “Opalite”, “The Fate of Ophelia”, and “Wood” are my top favs.
Besides wearing my Eras Tour sweatshirt and dancing through the streets of New York, my week has been quite lovely. Last weekend I went out with a few friends in the Upper East Side. We started the evening with dinner at the new(ish) restaurant Café Maud. The exterior is beautiful; green stripe awnings with a balcony on the second floor. Felt very Parisian, very New Orleans. They do not have that many gluten free options. They can accommodate a few items but not much. I ended up getting the Malibu bowl while my friends had pizza. After dinner we wanted to head up to The Domino Room- the bar upstairs. Unfortunately it was going to be a half an hour wait to get in. Instead we ended up at some random pub down the street. It was a nice night out and lovely to catch up with friends!
Tuesday afternoon I went to Do Not Feed Alligators in the West Village to meet up with Tricia, Happily Ever Style. We ran into each other at the Sézane event last week and wanted to catch up. I have been wanting to try Do Not Feed Alligators for a while, so was excited to finally be able to. It is always so busy on the weekends. I tried their strawberry matcha and it was delicious!! Besides my tasty drink, it was so nice to catch up with Tricia!
Yesterday I went to Jersey for a fitting. I am shooting another movie next week as a background actor. I can’t say anything else about the movie nor what I tried on. However, I had the best time! It was fun to play dress up; trying on different outfits, being poked by pins for tailoring, wearing jewelry that isn’t mine. I felt like a celebrity getting ready for a photoshoot or the red carpet. I felt like a kid at my grandmother’s house while she measured me for Halloween costumes and Easter dresses that she made. I felt like a teenager trying on my dance competition costume. I loved every second of it!
What I am watching: Abbott Elementary is back and just as wonderful as ever! I love this show! It’s funny and wholesome. I am always giggling while watching it. Ava and Jacob are my two favorite characters, but I do love them all. Highly recommend if you want to watch a feel-good show.
What I bought: My favorite gold hoop earrings broke Saturday night. I was sitting at the bar, mindlessly touching my earring, when it fell off. The metal post somehow broke off. I had to get on my hands and knees on the floor using my phone’s flashlight to find the scattered pieces. I only recovered the backing and the hoop, not the post. I went to a few different jewelry repair shops to see if it could be fixed, only to realize it was cheaper to just repurchase the earrings. Unfortunately the ones I had are sold out, so I ended up buying a very similar pair— under $100. They are slightly smaller, but I think I like it better that way.
Next I wanted a new fun top to wear this fall. I ended up buying this geo print blouse. It’s very pretty and will go well with a lot of different bottoms.
Last but not least I bought a daily journal called The Artist’s Way: The Spiritual Path to Creativity. I was listening to Gwyneth Paltrow’s (goop) podcast episode with Kelly Rutherford. They both discussed how this book changed them years ago; gave them inspiration and helped them not only with their creativity but life in general. I couldn’t have purchased the book fast enough. If it’s good enough for these two icons, it’s good enough for me!

This weekend I am going to an early screening of Regretting You starring Allison Williams, Dave Franco, and McKenna Grace. It’s a Colleen Hoover book adaptation. I was invited by Threads to see the movie with a little Q&A section at the end with the actors. I haven’t read the book but am excited to see the movie! Other than that I am not sure what my plans will be besides the usual itinerary.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
