holiday gift guide

The countdown to Christmas has officially started and I, for one, am excited for the jolly old St. Nick to shimmy down the chimney. The first thing my family does on Christmas Day is open our stockings. We hang our stockings above the fireplace in our family room while our Christmas tree stands tall in our living room. Opening up our stockings first in a different room really builds the suspense of how many gifts are under the tree. As an adult it is less exciting, but as a child it was intoxicating.

In our stockings we usually get a small gift, a gift certificate (most likely to the book store or Starbucks), lip balm, and m&ms. Each small gift differs from socks to beauty products to home essentials. I’ve gathered a little stocking stuffer gift ideas for both men and women, and items that the whole family can enjoy.

For men a new baseball cap would be used daily. I like this baseball cap in washed navy because there isn’t any logos on it. No large company branding or sports team. Another item for men would be a new pair of socks. These diamond printed socks can be worn with dress shoes or casual loafers. For the golf lover, a new score book would be greatly appreciate. This shaving cream is unscented and helps protect the skin from becoming irritated  by the razor. Last but not least, a YETI lowball will be used during the kids soccer game or to keep his coffee warm on his way to work.

For women a chic and classic cashmere beanie will keep them warm during the winter season. A white beanie that will go with all of their casual winter outfits. When their hair is messy from the snow, a claw clip will be needed. Speaking of hair, let’s face it we all probably need a new hair brush. It’s time to get rid of old faithful. This pink bristle brush is a great gift to give any woman in your life. If they are like me, then a new floral embroidered journal will be appreciated. I write in a journal daily and am always shopping for new ones. Another daily item they will use is a new pair of socks. These heart socks are really cute– they come in a pack of 3. And for the jet-setter, a lingerie bag to keep their delicate items separated is much needed.

Stocking stuffer items that the whole family can enjoy are these New York City playing cards. From the Upper East Side to the Statue of Liberty, these watercolor playing cards are too cute not to have. Also come in other cities. Keep the ambiance of the card game going by lighting candles with this flameless lighter. Gift each person a shampoo brush to help hair growth and exfoliation. An ice roller to reduce puffiness around the eyes and face in the morning. I have this ice roller and it works wonders– also great to use for sore muscles. Lastly, everyone needs linen spray. Before I go to bed at night I spray lavender scent onto my sheets for a more relaxing aroma. Shop stocking stuffers gift ideas below.
