The countdown to Christmas has officially started and I, for one, am excited for the jolly old St. Nick to shimmy down the chimney. The first thing my family does on Christmas Day is open our stockings. We hang our stockings above the fireplace in our family room while our Christmas tree stands tall in our living room. Opening up our stockings first in a different room really builds the suspense of how many gifts are under the tree. As an adult it is less exciting, but as a child it was intoxicating. (more…)
