“No artist tolerates reality”

-Nietzsche

Happy Friday!! Holy heatwave New York City! It is unbearably hot outside. I tried to run errands yesterday and had to cut it short because of how hot it was. Even though I am a summer girlie, this is when I start wishing for autumn temperatures.

My week was kind of quiet. My back and neck muscles were inflamed, so I went to WTHN for an acupuncture session. I love acupuncture! Not only is it relaxing, it really helps. Even after one session I can feel the difference. If you haven’t done acupuncture before, I highly suggest it. There is a reason it has been around for centuries. It not only relieves pain within the body, but it can treat migraines, infertility, arthritis, depression and anxiety, respiratory disorders, menstrual cramps, and more. I usually go for inflammation of muscles within my back, neck, shoulders, and thighs. I have a lot of wear and tear due to dance and exercise, plus I have a slight case of scoliosis that causes a lot of back pain. I get flareups a lot if I am overusing my muscles.

I went to my usual Tuesday morning DanceBody class. I probably shouldn’t have gone because I was in pain (prior to acupuncture), but decided to push through it. It did help loosen my muscles that were contracting, but I probably should have opted to stay home. Still loved the class though, haha! We are gearing towards the end of Q3 dances and I am soaking up the last few weeks of them.

What I am watching: I started watching After Party on Apple TV. I saw a few people raving about it on X (formerly known as Twitter). It’s a comedy with a murder mystery plot line. I like it but also do not think it’s the greatest show I have seen. I like a good old ‘who done it’ plot line, so that kept me interested. I just do not think it is as hilarious as some were saying it to be. Tis to their own I guess. I was bored so I kept watching it and easily finished the first season. I am now on season 2 and have to say I am enjoying it much more.

What I bought: I went on a little shopping spree this past week. First item I bought was this floral maxi dress from last weeks Sunday Shopping top 10. I know I am going to religiously wear it throughout the fall season and probably during the spring. Next I bought this drapey shirtdress. I think this is something I will turn to for years to come. I can easily dress it up with heels or dress it down with flats (great for work). I also bought this ridged gold cuff bracelet. Next I bought this floral mini skirt. Would look great now with a white t-shirt or a crisp button down then later in the season with a sweater. Last but not least I finally got yoga blocks– 2 of them. I have been wanting yoga blocks for a long time. I practice yoga at home through Obé and blocks will help deepen my stretch.

Oh and I can’t forget I bought a new book that I am currently devouring. Last weekend I bought Better Than The Movies. A romance rom-com style book that is super cute! I wanted something light and feel-good after reading a few books that dealt with heavy issues. This was the perfect choice! I am almost finished with it and will be getting another book this weekend.

The Golf Dress

LTK Spotlight: denim midi skirts

Top Seller: cable-knit cardigan

This weekend I will probably lay-low. I do not feel like going out, plus it is suppose to rain all weekend– breaking the heatwave thankfully. It’s the perfect excuse to stay inside and read. Really that’s all I want to do this weekend is read. I’ll also watch The Ohio State game and perhaps go for a long walk, but mostly I want to have a cozy weekend at home.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
