Happy Friday! Are you still feeling the effects of Mercury in retrograde? To be honest I do not fully understand what it means, and have never felt anything when people talk about it. However, this time around I felt it and am still feeling the aftermath days after it ended. After googling, I found it’s called the “shadow period”; it can linger for weeks prior and after Mercury retrograde. Sounds fun. Obviously nothing earth shattering has happened, just your typical Mercury retrograde affecting my technology and a few miscommunications with work. Hopefully the lingering shadow period will end soon for me.

The last few weeks I have been dealing with a neck and back issue. I somehow threw it out of alignment while traveling. I finally was able to go to my chiropractor over the weekend and it helped! I feel so much better! I scheduled another appointment with her at the end of October, just incase I have any issues. Fingers crossed, so far so good! I can move my head, dance around, use weights…. I am back baby! Speaking of dancing around, I went to DanceBody this past week. I haven’t been since before my birthday– which I can’t believe it’s been this long! They started their Q4 dances at the beginning of October, so I have missed a few weeks of learning them. I did take it upon myself to learn 3 dances through their online breakdown videos prior to the class. I didn’t wan’t to be the only one who messes up every dance. It felt so good to dance again and I am loving the Q4 dances– my favorites so far are “Ride”, “Sisters”, and “Up Down”.

What I am watching: I finished Only Murders in the Building and loved it! I highly recommend. I am so happy there is going to be a season 2. Also this week I started You. To be honest I am having a hard time getting into it this season. It’s starting to feel a little ridiculous. But I do hear the ending is wild, so I want to see what happens.

What I bought: I went on another little shopping spree. First I finally caved and bought this leather clutch. I only have one white handbag, which is my circle bag from Brahmin that I wear almost everyday. I wanted another white bag to have options.

Did you shop Hill House Home holiday collection? It was an anxiety filled few minutes when items were selling out fast! Prior to the launch I was trying to decide between the jewel brocade or the tartan, both in Ellie. I ended up wanted the brocade more. However, once the collection launched I was trying to hurry up and gather links for my blog post instead of shopping. The brocade dress sold out within minutes. Such a bummer! I ended up getting the tartan dress, which I am happy about. My reasoning for wanting the brocade print was because how unusual it was. I can get a tartan dress almost anywhere. However, now that I have purchased the tartan dress I am glad I got it as I can wear it daily, as oppose to the jewel brocade which is a fancier material.  The brocade is better for holiday parties. I wanted one or the other with Christmas day in mind. My family dresses up for Christmas day, but it’s more casual than our attire for Christmas Eve. This is why the tartan works better for Christmas day.

Since I was in a holly jolly mood, I decided to shop for an outfit for Christmas Eve. I know, it’s only October, but I couldn’t help myself. I was always the girl who started to think about what to wear on the first day of school mid-July growing up. Anyway, I didn’t expect to actual purchase an outfit so far in advance, more like start my search. However, I saw that J.Crew already launched a few of their holiday collection pieces and I couldn’t help myself. I bought this silk skirt to pair with this sweater— both in holiday red.

This weekend my cousin, who lives in Jersey, may be taking the train in for a day to hang out. She does have to work a little this weekend, so it is a tentative plan. But it would be nice to have her here to show her more of the city.  I do not think she has ever been here in the fall. If she does end up not coming into the city, I will be enjoying another nice fall weekend and cheering on the Buckeyes!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
