“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for abundance.”

Happy Friday and happy New York Fashion Week! To be honest I am not doing much for NYFW. Usually I go all out and attend shows, presentations, events, and press previews. This year, however, it’s a little different due to COVID. A lot of brands are either not having shows or having limited guests. And I didn’t reach out to that many brands as I have done in the past. Still, I am loving scrolling through all of the NYFW fashion photos online.

The only NYFW show I am attending so far is the Rebecca Minkoff presentation. This is actually the first time I have attended a Rebecca Minkoff NYFW, so am excited. I can’t wait to see the new collection and hopefully run into some of my blogging friends. I am hoping to attend at least one more show– a runway. Sometimes you will not get an invitation until a day or two before. If not, I am perfectly happy with only going to the RM presentation.

Last weekend I visited Greenwich, CT for the first time. It is a charming town. I instantly fell in love with the beautiful houses and all the shops along Greenwich Ave. I walked up and down the street stepping in and out of the shops. The one shop I was most excited to go into is the Stubbs and Wootton. I know we have one here in NYC, but I have never been to it. I did not buy anything, but enjoying browsing their beautiful handmade slippers. The houses in Greenwich are stunning. I walked around Belle Haven area, admiring the houses. There are a lot of private streets that I couldn’t walk through. I must have looked suspicious roaming around and taking pictures, but I didn’t care. The houses were meant to be photographed; picturesque and charming. For brunch I went to Méli-Mélo Cafe on Greenwich Ave. My omelette was delicious. I can not wait for my next trip to Greenwich. I can see why so many New Yorkers flock there to settle down. Perhaps I will too someday.

What I am watching: Still watching the US Open. I am so excited for the Fernandez vs. Raducanu final tomorrow! I’ve been cheering both of them on throughout the tournament. I love that they are both underdogs and have never gotten this far in a tournament before. It is going to be a great game. I honestly do not care who wins- I will be happy with either! I am also rooting for Djokovic to win the men’s singles.

Last weekend I watched the 3-part mini series The Pursuit of Love. It’s an adaptation of the classic book trilogy by Nancy Mitford. The mini series stars Lily James, who I think is a great actress. I’ve loved her in everything she has done. The mini series is well done and full of emotion. Set in England in the 1920’s, the story follows 2 young cousins, Linda and Fanny, who yearn to escape the estate they grew up in and start a life of their own. Linda is dramatic and a romantic while Fanny is sensible and shy. I have not read the book, but I may now because as always, the book is better than the movie I am sure. What I loved most about it is the costumes. I want everything Linda Radlett (Lily James character) wears throughout the entire series. I highly suggest watching if you like historical fiction and romance. Both of which are my two favorite genres.

What I bought: I ended up buying the green headband that was part of my last weeks Simply Smitten Top Picks. I love the coloring and it’s perfect for fall. I realized I do not have a fall headband to wear, so purchased it. Next, I went a little crazy with J.Crew’s new arrivals. I ended up buying this pink puffer jacket and this wool coat in ivory.

This weekend I am heading to the Banksy exhibit: Genius or Vandal. It’s a display of his work, some of his famous pieces. I’ve always found Banksy to be fascinating, mostly because he is unknown. There is a mystery, an allure to him. His creations are not quite my taste, but I can appreciate the craftsmanship and the artistry of it. I am looking forward to the exhibition. Later today I am meeting up with a few friends to check out Kate Spade’s apple orchard in the Meatpacking District. Afterwards we are going to grab a drink and catch up. Other than that I will be enjoying the nice weather, going for a run, frolicking around the city, and watching the US Open.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
