Happy Friday! Did this week fly by for anyone else? I blinked and it was over. This is how I pretty much feel in general about April– that it has flown by fast. I guess I can’t complain, it is the weekend anyhow, and I am ready for some R&R.

Last weekend I had planned to go to Brooklyn for the day. Unfortunately I ended up not going and stayed in Manhattan. To be honest I was being lazy. I got up early Saturday morning around 6am, ate breakfast then went back to bed (or an early morning nap perhaps ha). I woke up around 9am to watch Prince Philip’s funeral. Afterwards I talked to my mom on the phone for an hour. By the time I got off the phone with her I wasn’t motivated to venture the 40 minutes over to Brooklyn. Instead I decided to stop by Rosecrans for a slice of GF lemon bread (so good!) and to browse through the vinyls at The Music Inn. I then spent the rest of the day on the couch reading. I will save my Brooklyn excursion for another weekend.

Are you into podcasts? I love listening to them. There is a variety of podcasts that I subscribe to. It goes in waves for me which ones I listen to the most. For instance, when it’s comes to certain Real Housewives seasons I listen to Watch What Crappens. Ronnie and Ben are hilarious and always make my day with their impressions and jokes. When the Bachelor is on I will listen to a few Bachelor related podcasts. Then I have a few career focus / social media marketing podcasts I listen to for insight and tips. A few manifestation, wellness podcasts when I need optimism. And of course podcasts like Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert for entertainment. Lately, however, I have been listening to Christine Caine’s podcast Equip and Empower. For those of you who may not know Christine Caine, she is an author, speaker, and activist. She talks about the word of God and how it impacts our daily lives. I started following Christine on Twitter about a year or so ago, only recently learning she has a podcast. I’ve now been listening to one or two episodes a day and I absolutely love it. I feel a sense of calm and peace; being reminded that God is always with me, God has a plan for me, God can do anything, and God can make anything happen. It’s also empowering where I feel a sense of purpose and motivation. That no matter what happens to me during the day in any area of my life, that I will be ok. I highly recommend listening to it if this is something you are interested in.

What I am watching: I think I have watched all of Netflix at this point. After I binged watched Ginny and Georgia (loved by the way!) I scrolled through every streaming service I subscribe to to find another show. I decided upon The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. I never had much interest in watching, but I know people enjoy it. I am currently half way through the first season. It’s bizarre, but entertaining. I am enjoying it but not in love with it. I want to know what is about to happen, but not one where I put all of my other shows on pause so I can binge watch the entire thing.

Last night I started to watch Secrets of the Whales on Disney. It’s their new National Geographic docuseries. I am half way through the first episode about orca whales aka killer whales. It’s very fascinating. I have always loved whales, I think they are beautiful creatures. I am excited to learn more about them in the coming episodes.

What I bought: Last week I mentioned I bought this white blouse as I am on the hunt for a casual to fancy white top that I can wear with skirts and shorts. I currently have the blouse in my possession but have yet to try it on. Anyway, I decided to buy this puff sleeve v-back top and this square neck t-shirt both in white for more options. I will do a try-on and compare the 3– most likely returning 2 of them. Besides white blouses I ended up buying this lightweight jacket in stone on impulse. Do I need another light jacket / raincoat…. no, but I liked the color and style so I got it. Next I bought this pink floral babydoll dress from Target. I thought it would be a cute option to wear while I work from home and run errands. *Check out more of my must-have items from Target here.

This weekend I am planning on watching the Oscars of course. I believe it will be in person so I am excited to see the return of the red carpet and celebrity looks. I am also watching a special viewing of Rock of Ages on Saturday. The alumni Broadway cast is getting together for a one-night only concert. It am very excited to watch! Other than the two mentioned above, this weekend I will hopefully get in 2 runs. Now that the weather is nice I want to build back my endurance with cardio . Last Sunday I ran for a mile and a half, then walked 4 miles and I was wiped out. Right before the pandemic I was taking an hour long dance cardio class twice a week, and one Mile High Run Club class where I’d run about 3-4 miles. Now I am out of breath after a mile and a half. Besides running, I will be walking around Manhattan and enjoying the spring weather.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
