“As much as there are reasons to be afraid there are also reasons to be hopeful.

To keep on walking even in the unknown. To know that you are worthy and you belong.”

Happy Friday! I’ve been back in New York for a week now and it honestly feels like I haven’t left at all. Somethings have changed like more outdoor dining, oh and I can’t forget the upgraded Penn Station. I have yet to venture up there to see it for myself, but from what I have gathered through Instagram it looks amazing. Can’t believe going to Penn Station is on my list of things to do this weekend. I usually avoid it as much as I possibly can.

Being back in the city has been nice. I missed it. I missed walking around aimlessly. I missed the charm the city holds. I missed my apartment. I’ve done a little walking around during the week but haven’t ventured too far from my apartment. Now that I am back to reality from a long holiday break, I have jumped right into things. I had a few Zoom meetings this past week, which I (hopefully) will be able to talk about soon. All I can say is that good things are happening over here! 2021 may feel just as insane as 2020, but for me it’s been pretty amazing so far. I know, I know, we are only in week 2, but I want to stay positive that maybe this year will be better than the last (yes that is a Counting Crows shout out).  Have you set any goals or intentions for the coming year? I shared my 2021 intentions here on the blog, along with my themes for the year: limitless, become, love, and trust.  Last year I went into 2020 with a lackluster enthusiasm for the year. I wasn’t excited or determined. I felt, well, blah. Probably should have been an indicator of things to come. This year, however, I am more than determined to achieve my goals and desires. It isn’t a maybe it’s a will happen. I am excited for what blessings God has in store for me this year!

Besides writing out my 2021 intentions, I spent most of the week prioritizing my mental health. Lots of dance parties as well as moments of silence. Been surrounding myself with music, books, exercise, and conversation. I am putting myself first over outside noises and things I can not control. I am also trying to take care of myself physically. My left shoulder is having issues again. Sometimes it hurts to raise my arm. I’ve been using my massage gun as well as my foam roller to loosen any knots. I should probably go see an acupuncturist as I have in the past to treat the pain. It’s been a year since I last went to one because of the pandemic. What I really need, and want, is to go back to my medical masseuse to get deeper into my muscles. Maybe someday soon.

What I am watching: I binged watched the entire Bridgerton series and I AM OBSESSED!! It is so good! If you haven’t watched it yet, what are you waiting for?! It’s Gossip Girl meets Pride and Prejudice, what more could you ask for! Anyway, the show has stunningly beautiful costumes– please bury me in Daphne Bridgerton’s entire wardrobe. I am very happy they signed on for 8 more seasons. Can’t wait! I haven’t read the books yet, and am thinking of diving into them, but also do not want to spoil the story– so I am in a predicament. Speaking of period pieces, I started watching season 2 of Dickinson. So far I’ve enjoyed the first season more, but I am only one episode 2 so hopefully that will change. I also started The Mandalorian. I have only seen the first episode. And while I did enjoy it, I think this will be more of a show I pop on when I have nothing else to watch.  But who knows, that may also change as I watch the rest of the 1st season.

Do I have to mention the National Championship game with Ohio State vs. Alabama? That was hard to watch. I really thought we might have had a chance, you never know! Unfortunately we just couldn’t pull it off and Alabama ended up winning. At least we beat Clemson finally!

What I bought: I needed another pair of sweatpants to lounge in at night when I don’t care what I look like. I bought these joggers in heather sky blue. Another item I bought was this tie belt wrap coat in beige. I wanted a white wrap coat, but unfortunately started my search a little too late as everything seems to be sold out. I do like this coat and can’t wait to try it on, but wanted something longer.

This weekend I have nothing planned except to take long walks, finish my book (maybe buy a new one) and watch a movie or two. I completely forgot it was a 3-day weekend, but does that even matter anymore when we can not go anywhere. Or we shouldn’t go anywhere– I see some of you on vacations….. Anyway, I will be enjoying the long weekend in the city. Maybe I’ll venture out to Brooklyn or somewhere upstate. We will see!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
